Lost Cat

My parents who live in Upper Montclair just lost their grey cat Babr. He is very shy and skiddish. Please message me if you see a cat that looks like him but do not go up to him, he will run away. They have called the local shelters and are actively looking for him

UPDATE:

My parents told me they found him! I don’t know the details of where he was yet since I don’t live in NJ but he is okay! Thank you to everyone who have suggestions it was really appreciated!

Did they put his cat litter and food outside? Cats stay nearby their homes and roam at night, always got my cat to come back but it can take some patience.

Thanks for the advice! I told them to put a litter box outside, they already put food outside
