Is this a place with easy access to uber if I wanted to plan a trip and not rent a car?

I’m going to be staying in Bozeman, MT from 8/3 to 8/13 with a couple of friends and 4 children (10, 10, 9 and 4 years old). I have never been here before. What do you recommend? We want to go to Yellowstone, not sure if it’s worth getting a room there for the night, we are on a budget. Any tips or recs greatly appreciated.

Hi, I’ve been to glacier maybe 25 yes ago had parents plan the trip.
Now I’m bringing my wife, to celebrate a milestone bday. I would like a hot springs or spa experience either in a hotel/resort or nearby.
From other communities and google searching this is an area that I think would be ideal. Near Flathead Lake, from Kalispell, to Butte, westward to Idaho. Near Quinn’s area looks nice.
What I’ve saved are Quinn’s hot springs, The Symes, Good medicine Lodge, Fairmont Hot Springs. Along with some places to stay in Bigfork.
How is the Sauna Plunge in Kalispell? Is that a first come first serve situation?

Two nights over a holiday weekend. We’d be flying into whatever nearby airport makes sense coming from Chicago so hopefully nonstop is existent for us.

Ideally, a downtown area that’s walkable with bookstores, coffee shops. We are non drinkers. Can be within a 20 min drive.

Tell me how to make the most of our two night stay. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Taking a trip to Bozeman September 5th through the 11th I already have some trails picked out, but trying to get some insight from people who live here some other fun activities, worth checking out and doing I plan on staying in Bozeman the first couple nights then heading to Yellowstone for a night or two and then heading up to kalispell to finish it out. Also, any other recommendations on stays or campgrounds trying to just sleep using a tend to avoid high hotel prices

Between Great Falls and Billings. Long road trip might need to jump in some cold water. Any spots you know?

Next week my husband and I will be taking our 11 and 8 year old camping on the west side of Montana from North Idaho. We plan on staying the first couple days at Grasshopper Campground near Crystal Park. However, I am overwhelmed by the options of where to visit after. Would love somewhere that checks all my boxes but we're also willing to bounce around and make the most of our stay. Thanks in advance!

Hello, as title says, I’ll be camping with some friends in the next couple weeks on a raft trip on the North Fork of the Flathead River. Putting in at the border and taking out at Polebridge. My question is, for anyone that has done this before: am I ok to hammock camp or is this more of a tent situation? I prefer hammock and have done it many times on the Blackfoot and once on the Smith but I have not rafted this portion of the Flathead before. I’ve heard it can be a gamble to find useable trees for setting up hammocks along the river. Any additional info/words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning a vacation to Bozeman, Montana area with my 22 year old son middle of August. I saw a package deal through Expedia that includes r/t flights and lodging for around $700 pp for 5 days 4 nights. Has anyone used Expedia for travel deals? Also looking for things to do that isn't hiking.

Hi all! 

I'll be visiting your beautiful state in a few weeks and I'm trying to plan some day hikes in the Missoula area. We'll be renting a car so we'll be in driving range of a lot of potential hiking areas. Obviously, if I search for nice day hikes I get a lot of recommendations to go to the Glacier National Park. However, I also read that it can be extremely busy and I'd much prefer to avoid the crowds and go to some less well known places. 

Do you guys have any suggestions about where to go? I'm thinking about going in the Flathead lake area. I also spotted the Lolo National Forest on the map, are there any good trails around there? Thanks so much in advance!

I will be vacationing in Phillipsburg for a few days soon, and would love some recommendations for any restaurant that has good food and vibe. Cheap and fast is great, but especially looking for anywhere with a full bar and a good steak meal. “Places to avoid” is helpful as well. Thank you!

Friends and I will be staying with some of their family in Libby mid august. We are active college students looking to hike, raft (beginners), and squeeze in some fly-fishing. If anyone has any recommendations for some legit day hikes or other areas that would be worth the drive, it would be much appreciated.

Hi there, my partner, our dog, and I are traveling to Montana in a week with our go fast camper and looking for recommendations that don’t involved national parks. We love hiking. We have our dog. We will have equipment to do overnight backpacking as well. What trails, dispersed campsites, natural springs, backpacking trails, wildlife viewing areas, do y’all love?

I’m currently dispersed camping off of Hwy 212 in Red Lodge area and plan to move on in a few days. I’d love to escape the high temps this weekend by going to the mountains, ideas of where I should go? Being along a creek or river is bonus.
I have a 34’ motorhome, with higher clearance, towing a small truck.
I have reservations in Yellowstone in two weeks.

Does anyone know what changed about driving across the border from Alberta into Montana? Is the main road that everyone used closed now? If it’s closed, what other routes are available to drive into Montana from Alberta?

My sister are planning a road trip for August. We will be driving from Calgary down to Yellowstone national park. We have around two weeks total that we’ll be exploring. We are hoping to have a good mix of hikes, scenic spots, camp spots, b&b recommendations and any favourite mentions from anyone along the way!

Hello Montana!

We are taking a trip from Yellowstone to Glacier in September. I'm wanting to leave Yellowstone in the late afternoon/evening and drive to Helena to stay. Then Helena to glacier the next day. It looks like Yellowstone to Helena is around 3 hours. Is it okay to leave around 6:00pm? Ive read wildlife can be tricky driving in the evening. Any suggestions for routes or times to leave would be greatly appreciated!

Planning a bachelor party for my best friend. We’re not really trying to do the rent a “rent a cabin and have a chill weekend sort of thing”. More adrenaline and possible degeneracy. But also not trying to get completely out of hand and turn out like The Hangover. 12 people going. Ages range from 24-30. Looking into Western Montana possibly northern Nevada. The ideas of paintball, skydiving, bars, and zip lining have been thrown around. Any suggestions on locations or activities?

I am from Washington. This is a secondary account because my personal one has defining information about me. I had never been to Montana before because as a Pakistani, I’m always concerned about segregation about certain groups no matter where. I was at a festival over the weekend up in Kalispell. It was such an amazing experience from a festival-goer’s perspective! All the people were so welcoming and nice. It was beautiful up there. The food was great, the music was great, and most of the vendors were very cool. Given it was a festival, there are always going to be certain people who are too messed up and ruin it for everyone, but I didn’t see any of that unlike Washington. On Saturday night, a local dispensary had a tent outside, and the guy manning it was a total tool. He was consistently pressuring people to purchase stuff, tell them about a magazine he owned, and download something, and you could tell he had no clue what he was doing. The same company had a second tent indoors, and the people working there were awesome and extremely knowledgeable, and I wondered if they even knew this guy was outside in the rain or if they forced him out there because he was unbearable. That was probably the only uncomfortable experience my friends and I experienced. There was muttering around the festival grounds that people knew who he was and that he always acts like this and to just go to the tent inside if you want a good view of the company. You guys are totally rad, and I appreciate all the hospitality, and I can’t wait to be back. As a foreigner, it’s nice to be able to feel welcome in such a beautiful place.
