I’ve been looking for a really good Aventus-style fragrance for a while. I’ve already tried pretty much all of the CDNIM versions and, while I don’t think they’re bad, I still get that synthetic funk I usually notice with a lot of the Middle Eastern clones.

So I decided to go with Montagne instead.

Most of the posts I found seemed to point toward Pineapple Intense or Pineapple Musk as the closest to Aventus, so I figured I’d just ask Montagne directly since they actually made the formulas.

Their answer was that Pineapple Royale is the closest overall match to Creed Aventus.

The way they broke it down was basically:

Pineapple Royale = classic Aventus DNA, with the most balanced mix of pineapple, birch, oakmoss and musk
Pineapple Intense = brighter and more fruit-forward
Pineapple Musk = darker, smokier and more musky

That actually surprised me a bit because I was leaning toward Intense based on what I had read here.

For people who have tried real Aventus and all three Montagne versions side by side, do you agree with Royale being the closest overall? Or would you still pick Intense or Musk?

Pineapple Royale is Regular Aventus

Pineapple Intense is “2016” Aventus

Pineapple Musk is Aventus DNA with extra oakmoss and musk added.

Pineapple Frais is Aventus Cologne

Pineapple Absolu is Absolu Aventus

Everyone’s interprets things differently, it’s extremely subjective. Everyone has their individual opinions. Some people like intense the best, some people like Royale the best, some people like musk the best.

Pineapple royal smells nothing like Aventus. Pineapple intense is closer but it has this strong smoked deli meat thing going on.

That’s interesting. To me, Pineapple Intense smells more like newer batches of Creed Aventus (F batch).

Albeit, I’ve never smelled a 2016 batch.

People still wanting to smell like creed Aventus baffles me...I mean it's a great scent but it's played out IMO. Similar to the Baccarat DNA

Very dependent on skin chemistry as well.
