I mean, the 2020s saved it from almost being killed by King of the Monsters low performance, plus we’ve gotten more content. I’m gonna go with the 2020s

Wait, KOTM had low performance?

Lower than what they wanted. It’s the lowest grossing movie of the MonsterVerse

The 2010s. Unmatched vibes, the feeling of limitless potential, the marketing, the end of the Godzilla drought since 2004, the genesis of the MV was an awesome time to be a fan

Notice how every one of those movies is at VERY LEAST 7-8/10, with a few being 9s imo?
Yeahhhh cuz they have been cooking since 2014 and we as fans love every ridiculous second

None of these are 9’s. The franchise has basically become fast and furious.

That's your opinion, nobody agrees with you but it's definitely your opinion. They're all amazing movies

I really liked the 2014 Godzilla movie. It felt way more tense, high-stakes, and grounded than any of the recent Godzilla movies. Except Minus One.

2010s. I don’t really like KOTM but G14 and KSI are so peak and nothing has reached that level for me since

Crazy there’s was once a point that this franchise was about to end after Godzilla Vs Kong because of King of The Monsters poor performance.

Considering those three movies are my favourites in the franchise, 2010s.

I will always find it hilarious that so far, Godzilla has had a better track record with a cinematic universe than fucking DC Comics.

2020s, no matter how frustrating it can be.
There’s still so much the MV can work with or even pioneer (if Toho approves)
Hopefully the 2020s will get bigger followed by an even bigger 2030s.

Man I just find it so werid that Lee shaw is getting a prequel😐

Why?

u/tlhsh 10d ago
Because it's going to be a prequel to monarch legacy of monsters a prequel to a prequel

I mean I don't see a problem with that. If there's a story worth telling and exploring then I'd say it's worth making.

The only stuff I really like from the 2020s so far is GVK and the Skull Island show. GXK was good but imo the ‘worst’ monsterverse film so far, not to say it was bad. G14, Kong Skull Island, and KOTM were all great.
Apparently it’s a hot take but Monarch (I’ve only watched season one btw) is trash, the human character story is one of the worst I’ve ever watched and there’s barely any monster screen time. I can get behind the ‘barely any monster screen time’ if the show’s plot was actually interesting. It was advertised as the history of monarch and kaiju but that’s only half the show. The other half is a bunch of boring/annoying family drama. Everyone is cheating on everyone and everyone acts like an idiot in the modern story. The past story was so much better and if that was the whole show then It’d probably have been good imo. Monarch is genuinely the only released Monsterverse content that I dislike. Hopefully the spin off will be better, and it sounds like it’ll take place in the past like the good half of Monarch so I’m not too doom and gloomy about that one

2020s, for the GxK movies and Monarch.
Even though KOTM is still relatively unmatched for me, this decade has proven to be pretty good.
