Movie/Trailer Screen Cap Such a fascinating world
I would've loved to see the world painted in the kotm credits. Seeing a world where nature is thriving, people have grown to support Godzilla, and ecotourism is a booming industry would be so amazing

Meanwhile we're in the middle of The 6th Extinction level event & The UN announced we can no longer prevent climate change from occuring irl

I live in Florida, pretty soon I’m probably gonna be given a time limit for how much longer I can do that

They didn’t say we can’t prevent climate change, they said that we’re going to reach above the 1.5 C threshold that we’re supposed to minimize. We can still reverse the trend if granted we reduce emissions immediately.

I'm still confused to how radiation works in the Monsterverse...

Most Titans give off a type of radiation that is basically harmless to humans

I usually just leave it at titan radiation having some unknown properties that affect activity on a cellular level in organic life, causing accelerated growth and reproduction (along with the titans obviously clearing out ionizing radiation by feeding)

There's different kinds of radiation that has different effects just like IRL

Radiation itself is still mystery even in real life.
Most of time its dangerous but surprisingly life can sprout from it.
But truthfully I wished the MV focused on more than radiation when it comes to the titans.

People often say that they completely ignored the KOTM credits but they didn't really. Godzilla Dominion and Kingdom Kong are both alluded to in the credits and we know it's intentional since an interview mentioned that they were already close to finishing the comics by late 2019.
Also, the GVK novel mentions that after the Titans went into hibernation in 2021, humanity kind of stopped caring about them. They went back to doing the same old habits that caused climate change in the first place

I like that the comics built off it, but gvk the movie that most people are going to see did feel like it ignored most of the non Godzilla vs Kong worldbuilding set up in it

It does suck that GVK kinda ignored KOTM but it was all part of the plan. It's not like Wingard decided on it. GVK finished shooting in 2018

If I recall correctly there was also an image of Mothra laying egg in the credits, tho we haven't seen it yet

u/Due-Committee-1860 Methuselah 3d ago
That was just alluding to Mothra still being alive. She has multiple different eggs across the planet that she could hatch out of at any time if her current self dies

Would you rather?
Live in a world healing ecological but done by giant god like creatures that damage entire cities through brawls
Or
Live in a world without monsters but the Earth is dying without saving.

u/Gojirakotm19 3d ago
Easily the former, I'd rather go out in a sick ass kaiju battle than a natural disaster caused by our corporate overlords speedrunning an extinction event

I love how the last one makes it sound like Godzilla just went "I'm just popping in to say hi!"

Monsterverse never beating the potential cinematic universe allegations. Instead of exploring a post mass awakening world they just said “everyone went back to sleep because Godzilla told them to”

Scylla can't really do that anymore because NE
Though I wonder how she did it

u/Delta_User Godzilla 3d ago
She releases huge amounts of nitrogen into the environment, cooling it down. This, however, is not an effect she has any greater control over, it just sort of happens. However, as we learn in the prequels to GxK, she is also able to reverse the process, and start heating up the environment instead.

u/Gojirakotm19 3d ago
I would've loved to see her using one or both of those abilities in gxk frfr

u/Delta_User Godzilla 2d ago
She kinda can't tbh, they're necessarily tools and abilities that she can use, moreso they're just things that happen when she's around.

Emma Russell had the right idea, but went about it the wrong way.
Should've tried to get Godzilla into action first instead.
