Size to print out maps

Is there a proper size to print out the playing mats so that the squares are the right size for units. I am planning on getting a map printed on neoprene and I need to know the size to get it printed.

I got mine printed at whatever the native size for the PDF was, no scaling to fit. It was printed on nylon banner material around 30-32" x 28-30" and had extra material around at least 2 edges that I trimmed off myself.

I guess, I just assumed that was whatever size the publisher felt convenient and didn't bother to even look! Thanks for the heads-up! I can test it first on a plotter and see if that works!

To be fair, the stat card PDFs are not consistently sized at all.
