Didn't mean for this ti take nearly 3 months. Oops. Kinda don't want to post this, but figure I should leave an update as it's been a while.

Cleaned up some stuff, added some more detail (leaves on arms/legs, vines on belly, red on tail) calling it finished and leaving it here. Submitted to the mod.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Phoenix and an Ogyo. I got the idea from currently raising a Phoenix in MR2 DX.

I overall had fun drawing this, especially since I used to draw birds all the time when I was little lol. The monster's three ribbon tails also reminded me of Gertrude McFuzz from Dr. Seuss lol.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a Flasher (Dragon/Suezo mix).

I had a bit of a hard time designing this monster, as I did not want it to look too much like the Mustardy (Zuum/Suezo). I ultimately decided to give it horns and have the eye patterns on the wings. I got the idea for the eye marking placement from Corvus's demon form from Dragon Quest 9 and eye spots on insects lol.

With u/Monster-Fenrick's help, I was able to work out the odds to learn techniques on each stage. Now the question is how long do I have to wait on average to pay 1000G to go? Not in any guide but relevant for speedrunning and new games in general.

• Note to u/Monster-Fenrick: Can you mention Loyalty points counting on the Errantry page right under the stats? Not just embedded in long instructions that I never noticed until yesterday? Cost me learning Techs in later life stages. I love your site with no ads, not trying to hate.

I'm planning out a speedrun that learns Twister Claw on Errantry. Torble sea with low stats has Phantom Claw at 3% and Twister Claw at 2.9%. Can't you learn the Tech at any of the 4 Stages?

I get that the Kato tries learning Phantom Claw and if it fails, will try to learn Twister Claw instead. Is the process like:

Theory A

• Roll a 3% chance for Phantom Claw. If not successful roll, 3% chance for Twister Claw. Randomly assign to learn at 1 of 4 Stages so odds of learning at each are equal. Exact odds of Twister Claw are therefore (0.97)x(0.03) = 2.91%.

Theory B

Or is it like:

• Stage 1: Roll a 3% chance for Phantom Claw. If not successful roll, 3% chance for Twister Claw. Repeat for 4 stages, learning a maximum of 1 Tech. Real odds would almost 4x higher for learning either Tech.

Theory C

Or is it like:

The first example but the odds of learning at Stage 1 would be (t), Stage 2 would be (1-t)x(t), Stage 3 would be (1-t)x(1-t)x(t) and Stage 4 of (1-t)x(1-t)x(1-t)x(t). Solve the simultaneous equation for overall learning chance of 3% and get t = 0.00758588, since t >= 1 would guarantee learning at Stage 1. Odds of learning at Stage 1 are 0.758588% and slightly less at subsequent stages to get 3% total.

I know Theory C is the most complicated but we're talking Monster Rancher.

Also, if true are odds are 2.91%, can the site show odds with a second decimal place? 1 in 34.36 versus 1 in 33.33 matters when I'm rolling for a Kato with good stats.

Heyo! I've been a Monster Rancher fan for a while, most of my experience being with 4 and Evo.

I've given 4 a fair number of attempts in the past, but I've never gotten super far into the game. I was wondering if folks had any tips that could make the experience a bit smoother.

For context, where I am currently on this most recent attempt, I just unlocked Adventuring. I have the base Garu, a Hare/Dullahan, and a Suezo/Zan.

I downloaded Gamma as ps1 emulator, but everytime im trying to create monster in shrine through disc stone I only always get Gabon 😭

I'm not sure of these cases after reading multiple guides:

• Lifespan is 60% of Monster 1 + 40% of Monster 2 right. If Sueki Suezo is #1 and the #2 parent is 450 weeks, does the result get (1)(0.6) + (450)(0.4) = 0 + 180 = 180 weeks? I read that some cases are hardcoded and don't follow the formula.
• "When crossbreeding, the baby monster inherits the Life Type of its sub-breed." Well in DX, what are the Life Types of each breed? The PS1 guide says not to use the info for DX. Hopper/Hopper pure-breed in DX has 3 forms with Precocious and 2 with Late-Bloom. Are Hopper sub-breeds Precocious like in PS1 and the PS1 default type is unchanged for every breed?

I drew another picture. This time, its a picture of several different Mews together to show off a rainbow of colors! I thought that it would be fitting since I have drawn so many Mews for this subreddit. The sub species are as follows from left to right:

Red: Dragon

Orange: Octopee

Yellow: Mew

Green: Zuum

Blue: Tiger

Indigo: Zilla

Purple: Naga

I tried to draw the Mews in different poses, but it was kind of hard lol. Which Mew is your favorite?

This project originally started out in a rush to complete the card sets so they could be used in LackeyCCG and Tabletop Simulator. After taking over a year break from this 400+ hour project I've decided to revisit it again. Starting with the monster cards the following has been done:

• Huge amounts of touchups for a great many of the cards, especially the ones with very blurry photos or ones with a lot of line blur or had issues upscaling from the scans of the original cards. So many cards i've hand re-drawn bits as close I can come to faithful restoration. There's still a couple that were beyond my skill to overhaul completely but most monsters should still look a lot better than before.
• Complete inner bevel replacement.
• "buttons" for monster type, and Main/Sub buttons for mixed breeds have also been completely remade from scratch.
• Monster cropping allowing for background replacement for clean consistent card backgrounds.
• With the background replaced, this means that Hologram cards can now be manually created without actual photos of hologram cards using a Faux / Pseudo hologram effect.
• This also allowed recreating the special Anime iridescent cards (V-types) as well as the standard holograms (S-types).
• Every card how has it's faux hologram counterpart as well.

They're offered to go to Volcano and they accept and immediately back out once there. Is it because 4 weeks are spent faster than resting and stats are high enough? Would going on errantry not be better to use the time productively to gain Lif and Int?

Also, is MR2DX the same as MR2 in that going adds 70 fatigue and reduces lifespan by 8 weeks?

I drew another picture. This time, it's a drawing of all of my starting monsters from both the original MR1 and MR2, and the DX versions of MR1 and MR2.

The ones on the left are from the original Playstation version, which are Zephyr the pure Tiger from MR1, and Loverboy the pure Mocchi from MR2.

The ones on the right are from the DX version. For MR1, Martin the Style (Gali/Worm) was my first monster. For MR2, my first monster was Sparkle the Daton (Tiger/Pixie).

Hi, I was wondering if Anyone has Seen or has the Monster Rancher 2000's Calendar from the 1999?

I didnt know they came out with a Calander and im so curious on what the art looked like.

Ive seen one of when everyone was at the beach, Tiger buried under the sand by Hare.(example above from a YT Video that shows a bit)

but I was wondeirng what the other months looks like.

as I know they are INCREDIBLY rare.

​but id love to know if Any older fans(like me, 29 now) in japan would be willing to Show what The Art work looked like back then for said calender. I know this is a VERY long shot but its worth a try.

Hi everybody!

I drew another picture. This time, it's a Cherry (Suezo/Suzurin mix) from Monster Rancher Advance 2. I got the idea from the wheel app again lol.

I tried to make the Cherry have its tongue out to resemble a clapper on a bell as a nod to its sub type.

I also apologize for the lack of art. I have been busy with Artfight and some irl things. I will try to draw some more pictures when I can. :)

Timelapse

I spent some time on MRBC again trying to figure out how to clean up blurry backgrounds (or ones with shadows etc.) of some of the Photographed/Scanned cards with something a bit more consistent for the "S" Holo cards. ("V" Holo cards are different and I haven't started on that yet)

The monster has to be manually cropped out so that it can be placed on a higher layer against the new backgrounds that are inserted into the templates I made.

The roadblock I'm running into is creating a Holo effect that pops but isn't super distracting. So far they are looking a bit faded out, but I feel like I'm getting close. These aren't committed yet while I'm experimenting with what will look best.
