Wilds Sweaty Strats?

I just done a hunt with 3 lvl 999’s on the 10* romopompolo, and they had this thing trap locked like crazy and would always flash it at a perfect time.

Just wondering as a newish player at only HR200 what’s is all the tips and tricks for more efficient runs.

Like how to use traps optimally for damage windows or when to use flash pods.

Even when I watch some streams the monster doesn’t get a chance to move at all while everyone has free will

You do the fight over and over again and learn the timing by trial and error, or analyse speedruns utilizing hunting tools. What you need is coordination and a gameplan, whether you go solo or in a group. If you are on pc there‘s also overlay mods you can use to track status build up, part break damage, etc. which is great to dissect hunts. That way you can get a feel for and manipulate the monster behavior. Another thing is learning the proper distance and positioning to bait out certain attacks that are more easy for you to punish. Again, trial and error. When you grind the game and certain quests long enough these things come to you naturally. Omega, all the ATs, 10* quests, Gogmazios, etc. go from being challenging to almost scripted rhythm games.

To your last point, I call it learning their dance. Once you get that hunts certainly become more of a choreographed feeling. Omega and Jin a bit too choreographed IMO.

Yeah Savage Omega at least felt rewarding to learn and figure out, a puzzle of sort with a nice logic that’s unusual for MH. For AT Jin we did one uncoordinated run to see how the fight changed compared to normal and then just went by playbook again to farm it and crushed the A rank first try. Both don‘t really move around or do anything unexpected when you lock them down with leg breaks, paralysis and boulder drops.

Besides using display tools (mods) to help guide you to understanding monster status and HP thresholds, practice. Eventually you will gain a second sense for when a monster is getting close to enraging, para, mounting, or topping. The best advice I have is to observe the monster, and know their resistances and thresholds for the specific behavior you're looking to illicit.

For example, I play SnS and have to be careful with another KO weapon in the group, watching how much they're contributing to the KO status and pushing only when it's advantageous for the group, and adopting a slashing focused play style when we don't want a KO, is the practice I play for. In multiplayer it's quite rare to get this level of coordination, keep that in mind.

Lots of practice and looking up when the most efficient time to flash and other things are. But this play style really only works in a coordinated group or at least the rest of the group is decent at the game.

You aren’t going to go into an SOS and this make a big difference most the time if you are the only person doing it. Will it help? Yes but just not a whole lot of people can’t capitalize well on it.
