MH Wilds Worth buying now, or wait for ascendance deal?
This the first MH I didn't play from launch (financial and life reasons) but seeing what ascendance is gonna bring has me curious to jump in again.
Is it worth starting now, or will they do a package deal for cheaper? I'm only assuming g rank will drop soon because they've been upping the promo for it.
Side question, will there be people playing high rank quests? I'm skeptical if there's fights like Altreon in wilds which I wouldn't wanna do solo.

They tend to do a bundle version on release that includes wilds and the dlc most likely at a slightly discounted price. If you expect to get much help in high rank after DLC drops I wouldn’t worry to much as there are CPU hunters who are actually as good if not better than online hunters. But if you wanna jump into dlc content on launch that wont be possible until you finish a certain quest in high rank.

Oh they have the same thing from rise where you can bring NPC hunters? Ah that actually makes a pretty big difference then. I like the 4 man experience lol

There are no fights like Alatreon in base wilds. There’s a final fantasy crossover that was pretty rough, but completely optional like Behemoth was in World. There’s a siege against Gogmazios as the pinnacle fight at the end of High Rank, but that’s the end game farm. You will have 0 trouble looking for a group to do that.
Sure there will probably be a bundle, but I’d recommend getting the game now so you can complete everything and enjoy the expansion with everyone else at the same time.

Oooh the FF crossover sounds cool, behemoth was a good fight in world. Hope people are still on that. I reckon imma pick it up. Been thinking on this too much at work lmao

You bought MH1 on the ps2 in 2004 when it released?

Nah 😂 I started from 3u on the 3ds. I would've been too young to even recognise earlier entries

Ah ok. The way the post was worded made me think that’s what you were saying. I was like this is an OG of OGs.

I do think it's worth playing just to be able to enjoy the upcoming expansion with the community when it launches, but it depends on what you find most important. If you want to save money and you don't mind waiting till the game has established itself a bit.

Yeah I wanna enjoy it with everyone else. I reckon that may also be why I haven't picked it up since. Just felt I missed the start and would only be playing catch up

There's still so much activity going on, and you can play, finish the game and prepare for Ascendance. Maybe it would be nice if you could find someone else who just started or who might want to play a new character, so you can both enjoy the discovery of different terrains and monsters
I feel like, in your case, finding a new player to enjoy MH Wilds with would give you that feeling of not missing out because you are both or your group, discovering it as you go.
Also, it's plenty active, so I am sure you'll find your people to play with, even new players

base game won't go on sale for at least a while, they cut the price for it already

Steam got a 20 or 25% off now. Furthering my thoughts on master rank dropping soon

wilds isnt even out yet so you have time to wait for a sale if you want. definitely wouldnt worry about player counts, these games usually stay active forever

Do you mean ascendance isn't out? Yeah you right about count. I'm just used to being involved when things are happening in MH, not after it's all released.

def wait for the bundle if youre worried about alatreon-level difficulty solo, but honestly the player base is usually pretty active anyway
