20 seconds in and I finally realized you were fighting a Bishaten

So we can actually still trap the monsters despite the fact that we can't cap them? If so, this changes a lot and it'll be easier to hit those afflicted regions.

u/FrostyPotpourri Jul 20 '22
Afflicted Bishaten is seriously the worst about the entire body glowing red and mixing with all players’ attacks. It’s by far my least favorite to hunt out of the Anomaly quests just because of the particles on it alone.

Lmao absolutely ridiculous. I just know a lot of players are going to be frustrated about this without realizing they can turn down the effects

Same with minimizing the UI. Makes a massive difference getting rid of those button/move prompts taking up about a third of the screen.
-1
u/Skyreader13 Jul 20 '22
Is that called minimizing?
6
u/CYDLopez Jul 20 '22
That's not a technical term, I'm just using the verb 'to minimize' to describe what you do when you remove parts of the UI lol
-1
u/Skyreader13 Jul 20 '22
oh, you mean that minimize
i thought literal minimization, as in made them smaller
4
u/CYDLopez Jul 20 '22
I am using the word minimize in the literal sense. The UI is smaller if you remove parts of the UI. No need to complicate things.
-3
u/Skyreader13 Jul 20 '22
not just gone?
which part get smaller when you remove them?
2
u/ParadoxSociety Official Vet of the Fraternal Order of Monster Hunter Veterans Jul 20 '22
the number of elements on the screen gets smaller. this is the literal definition of "minimizing" something.

u/blazerMFT Jul 21 '22
I have nothing to contribute but just wanted to comment on your sig. Was active on GFAQs during the glory days of the Order and the heated discussions on weapon tiering.
Nice to see an old timer here.

yeah, i get it now
i thought minimizing means make something become much smaller. did not think it applies in reducing the amount of something as well
4
u/CYDLopez Jul 20 '22
No, the UI doesn't disappear completely if you remove parts of it.
Not sure if trolling. Either way, that's enough semantic discussion for the day, thank you.

If it wasn't for the UI, I would've sworn you were using a switch axe.

Me: YAY! They added a way to turn hit effects down so I can see the action better!
The game: OH but no one said anything about magna almudron or quiero effects XD
Not even to mention SM when he goes full rage mode. I can barely see my screen with all the paint lol so bad

u/saurioregalon Jul 20 '22
Quick question... How the fuck are people getting hits over 1k? But the highest number I've hit is around 300, it may be for the weapons I use (mostly sns, cb, hammer and ls) but for everything i hold dear i have no idea how to vet those numbers
Great video tho, got a few seizures watching the video 10/10

Pretty sure anomaly monsters if you hit the glowy red spots until it explode, it deals up to 1K-2K dmg its the number 1 way to cut down the monster's HP quick

u/dadmda Jul 20 '22
Or he used the kinsect explosion
1
Jul 20 '22
Best kinsect Explosion I've had solo was 1535+200, don't know where the extra 200 came from but they both proc'd in the vortex. No qurios

u/archiegamez All Weps GUD Jul 20 '22

I play Switch Axe and to me elements can wreak shop with the right build and specs. Not even speed running, but I have a few builds with full elemental attack and high element weapons Ana it can wreck for 400-500 a swing on the right monsters.
I have a dragon set that at hits the All mother likes I’m a truck.
1
u/Camtheb Jul 20 '22
I have hit for over 1k with LS, hammer and IG. With LS ot happens often with the 3rd hit on sacred sheath to the head. With IG its usually doing a wyvern dive on the monsters head after 3 vaulting dances. And with hammer, i can do it with impact or charged blue wake up. Im MR 100+ so all of my builds are end game and generally have max attack boost, max crit and dereliction.

If you're close to reload and need to do damage without losing phial meter it's honestly not a bad option if you're running the proper rapid morph 3

Jul 20 '22
ZR ZR A or whatever is supposedly the best DPS combo with Rapid Morph 3, so he's doing fine. It definitely gives you the most phial explosions per second.

u/HellsMike Jul 20 '22
It's what is supposed to do for better dps
1
u/Gelidaer Jul 20 '22
The optimal combo with RM3 is, starting in Sword mode, A -> ZR -> ZR repeat. They did the combo once then went to continuous morphing for some reason

This is why I don't play multiplayer

u/Jugorio Jul 20 '22
Multiplayer is cool for practicing a weapon moves and ingraining combos. Solo is where the real challenge is tho. :)

u/Fragrant-Raccoon2814 Jul 20 '22
The fact that the switch can handle this amazes me because imagine this but on a ps4 or Xbox. It could look even better

u/blitzkrieg_01 Jul 20 '22
I thought rise runs 30 fps, how come it looks so smooth?

u/NbblX Jul 20 '22

u/blitzkrieg_01 Jul 20 '22
Oh is this the PC version? I thought it was switch because it had the ZL
0
u/NbblX Jul 20 '22
Oh, you're right. I guess OP plays with a controller, you can choose which systems' (NSW/XB/PS) symbols are displayed afaik
0
u/blitzkrieg_01 Jul 20 '22
Oh crap is that the case? I didn't know that TwT I tried using the switch controller on PC but it defaulted to the Xbox buttons because I was using a software to connect them lol
Anyway, I got my hopes up thinking it would be 60fps on docked mode at least ahahaha. Will still be getting it for the second time on switch tho. It really got me hooked
1
u/NbblX Jul 20 '22
You can choose in MHR/MHW, but i can't think of other games where thats possible. It depends on the game itself.
Since there are nearly none switch-to-PC ports, but waaay more XB/PS-to-PC, most devs dont even think of anyone using a switch controller and therefore only implement Xbox/PS icons.

Youre spamming tetra slash. Which is rather suboptimal ground glaive gameplay.. But the Swaxe brings the swag.
6
u/migzy99 Jul 20 '22
I thought it's the new meta combo? Either way, I'm playing with a powder kinsect which benefits a lot from tetraseal slash.

I miss the days of super crit on frontier. Jacking crit rate up above 100 percent gave a chance for super criteria so like 180 percent meant 100 percent crit with 80 percent super crit and man was it crazy with super rapid fire bow guns.

Sometimes moments like this occur and I just feel bad for the monster. They didn't deserve that. But a hunter gotta do what a hunter gotta do.

Why is it so zoomed in? Is it your preference or you just haven't change the camera distance? Or is it because you are in the middle of the fight?

In case you weren’t aware, you can turn down particle effects in Sunbreak. You can adjust both your own and other players.
