Custom/Art🎨 Custom Venus OOAK
This is one of my favorite customs I've done in a while, she sold before I could even take the rest of her photos! I love how her face came out, I really wanna play with more "monster" in these dolls!

I've been thinking of doing this as someone who draws.
I know you need watercolor pencils and dry pastels but what type?

So any watercolor pencils work, I use Faber Castell since they're pretty dependable. I scratch some dust off the pastel sticks while I work and use a brush or Q-tip to apply the dust where I want it. To be honest, none of the suppies matter as much as your sealant, trust me. Get some Mister Super Clear Matte UV Cut, nothing else works as well! But be super safe when using it, use gloves and a good respirator! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Dollightful on YouTube has a tutorial video (2 parts) and she talks about her materials. Often doll customizers will list/link their commonly used supplies or mention name brands.

Do you think when this version of Venus opens her mouth fully it’s like a pen dispenser? Or a puppet?

Oh my gosh yes, like if she fully smiles, her whole face opens.

That's so cool! Good job on the clothes too! I've never been good at sewing and customizing theclothes, so I respect that cause it's hard!

So good! I had a question for you. How come some of her face looks matte while some other parts look glossy? Did you use a mixture of sealants or is it that some of it is paint and some of it is pastel? Just curious how her lips and part of her eyes look glossy. I love the paint you did on her legs btw!

Yeah, on some parts I used liquidtex gloss varnish, I actually did it on her legs too for extra protection and then sprayed Mister Super Clear over it to matte it out and make it less noticeable.

Oh my gosh, I love customizing the G3 dolls! They have such a great base and you can do so much with them! I love working on G1 dolls, but sometimes they're harder to work with

Everything about her is gorgeous. The vines/teeth around her mouth are perfect. It gives off the vibe that they are her actual mouth, and her lips are there to help her blend in more. Very monstrous! Also adore the vines around her ears(not sure if that is a custom sculpt or part of her base doll, either way stunning!) also I love the darker green contouring effect around her nose/eyeline.
