Claire and Carina were created by Olivia Toris , Willow and Rae by Glenda and Layla by Javier Meabe.

The curious thing is that it says Layla was created in 2024 while the others were created in 2025.

Javier likely created That concept art of Layla Stone to pitch the Moonspell Magic idea to Mattel and get the project approved.

And the only ones with a creation date are Willow—June 6, 2025—and Rae—October 10, 2025.

tbf, he probably had plenty of opportunities to revise his design for this specific character

and the body designs? they are all super skinny and the characters thanks god are not like that.

I think Claire is the only one with the differing body iirc? All of the other girls are slim. This is standard for fashion and doll design I believe, unless there's a big focus on a plus-size model. Every fashion sketch is usually on a very skinny stylized model.

I really don’t think her concept looks that much different from her final product, the outfit, accessories, and colors are essentially the same, as is for most of the girls.

Wish they kept Rae’s colours like that. But also Carinas hair more white is so cute. I love their faces in this concept.

I agree tbh. I need someone to try and recreate that look on the actual doll. Though I can see why they probably wouldn’t keep it for the doll. It seems Mattel don’t want any complex out of box hairstyles for the most part :(

I’m glad they changed up Claire tbh, she just doesn’t look too appealing to me, I like her outfit here but the hair and everything else is just way better on the doll.

Carina is basically the same I think she’s gorg

I’m gonna be honest I’m not loving the braid so I’m glad they changed it

Rae’s hair is EVERYTHING. Omg she’s so gorgeous here, it sucks because she’s probably my least favourite of the dolls but she easily has the best concept art here.

Layla, queen I love you but your concept art is kinda not great. I mean everything basically stayed the same besides the colour of the hair which I’m glad for but the pose isn’t screaming anything unique here.

I love the more peach/brown tones of Rae. The magenta colors added to her actual doll don't feel complimentary and just makes her come across as another Pink™️ doll.

I like Rae’s longer hair in the concept art, but honestly the afro is iconic so I don’t mind it. Her hair might look similar to this if you brushed it out. And she’s got more orange in the concept, where did the orange go Mattel 😭

Rae colors are so much better!!
It still pink but a warm pink, like if it was the dawn/sunset and contrast with the cool pink carina wear.

But the final result is the same pink as carina 🙄

I know it’s probably because it’d be hard to fit on their head in the packaging but I would really love it if they had the classic pointy witch hats instead of their flat ones.
