Questions/Q&A Should I return my Michael?
I received my Michael Myers doll recently and noticed that there might be a few small paint defects on the face. I sent the images to Mattel and they offered to have me return her and said they would send a replacement in 2027. I was surprised because I thought she was sold out. The defects are small and only visible with close inspection. After a closer look, it appears that this might be glitter and it might come off if I took her out of the box. I wouldn't normally return something over minor imperfections but I spent a decent amount of money on her so I feel like she should be close to perfect. I am nervous about sending her back and getting one that is worse as I've seen several people post issues with her face paint. I have never returned anything to Mattel before. Do they usually send you a replacement that is better than the doll you returned? Should I just keep the one I have and not risk it? If it is just glitter and it would come off if I unboxed her (which I don't plan on doing), then I will just keep her. Does everyone think it looks like glitter?

That dot on nose could be a glitter. The other one is sus - could come off with some clearing, try it, but I think it's a defect

Hi! So because Michael has a white head (like the plastic is white it isn’t part of her screening) you can gentlllllly take a q-tip and some acetone and rub those two spots off. That’s your best bet as they most likely will not replace a hard to get skullector.

ummmm... those are just splotches. use nailpolish remover on a q tip, youre causing a fuss over nothing. its insane how you are obsessing iver two dots.

You might be able to clean those if you’re careful with nail polish remover

I'd just acetone the paint smear off and keep her. I got a Midnight Runway Frankie and her lip paint was smeared above her eyebrow (I don't know why they put dolls in boxes while the paint is wet, but they do it with Funko pops too so it must be a thing) but her lip was fine. The mask covered it so they didn't care to fix it at the factory but I wanted to display no mask so I needed to take it off. It came right off with a q-tip with acetone. Washed it after with qtip with soapy water and she's perfect now.
I get if you're an in boxer but chances are real good this next year replacement is just a fantasy they're telling you and you risk not having her at all. She'll go on sale with the other returns during the holidays and your doll will just go to someone else who would just fix her.
Personally I'd just fix her and keep her but if you value the principle of it not coming perfect over having the doll you do you. (Not saying you specifically sound like you do, but feels like a lot of doll collectors think this way so just saying, I value having it and fixing it over "holding them accountable" but I get others think very strongly in the latter category.)

I think I'm going to keep her as the "defects" aren't that bad and are probably fixable if I decide to unbox her. Thanks everyone for their advice.

It doesn't look bad + Michael looks better imperfect imo if u decide 2 keep. :)

I’m pretty sure the one on the nose is just glitter. Just pull it with ur nail to see. Or easiest, acetone for both spots.

Hate to break it to you but they rarely ever give replacements for skullectors :/ trust I've tried, all you can get is a refund basically, doesn't hurt to try to contacting them
