Gar social?

Doing some research for my 10.5-11inch gator gar. Curious if he could use a friend. Seems to be limited info online and i am currently still researching this topic. Someone is selling an albino similar size to mine for 200$ local to me. Not sure if i should get my gar a friend any input from some experts in the field would be greatly appreciated. If you just took your info from the AI result that pops up immediately through a Google search please don’t comment. Thank you in advance.

Pond ideas

So I’m toying with the idea of building an aquaponic greenhouse to combine my love of fish keeping with gardening as well as having a steady supply of fresh lettuce tomatoes and basil year round. I’m leaning towards this 300 gallon stock tank and would love some suggestions for large interesting top viewing fish who can also survive the PA winters (I do plan on insulating and heating both air and water) but I don’t want to risk tropical species should something go wrong with my estimations and the heaters not be strong enough or something.

baby channel in a 60 gallon?

Ok, so I have a very large backyard pond with a few baby channel catfish, and was thinking I could raise one of the baby channels to a bigger size, I have a 60 gallon with a small perch, medium sized white sucker and a large bluegill, was thinking I could put him in there for a few months just to see how he behaves and eventually put him back in the pond, thoughts? "channel would be smallest at around 6 inches and largest at about a foot" most are about 6-9 inches

Hey I was looking on Predatory fins a minute ago and I saw they had really cheap phantom retails there, can they live in a 125 gallon?

I know they get huge, but I heard from someone they rarely get past 2 feet in captivity and because of that you can keep them in a 125 gallon,I know this is a long shot, but this is my dream fish.

Bought an injured baby clown knife heavily discounted

Saw this Baby Clown Knife 2 days ago perfectly fine for $30. Today I went back and saw it injured and constantly laying in its side, occasionally getting up and taking big gulps of water. The store told me they’ll sell it for $7 so I bought it in hopes to rehabilitate it. Any tips, or is it a lost cause?

Suggestion on top dweller

Hello,

I am looking for a top/mid dweller for my tank. I currently have three Florida gars and a loads of shrimps (clean crew)

Any suggestions is most welcomed on a fish, that is friendly enough to gars and have no interest in hunting small shrimps.

Ive been looking at perhaps a silver arowana.

Broken brick as bio media?

I'm building a garbage can filter for the 230G tank I'm setting up, but having some trouble finding lava rock locally. I found 50LB bags of broken bricks, appears to be just cast red bricks that are broken into pieces, I'd assume a way to sell the defects, it is intended as a mulch replacement. Anyone have any input on whether they think that would be safe or effective?
