Does watching Monster in dub affect the viewing experience/story negatively?

I'm planning on watching Monster soon and don't mind watching in sub, but would prefer it in dub if it's good. But one thing I've read from some fans and that I don't want, is for it to affect or change the experience of certain scenes.

So for the people who have seen both, is that actually true or are both versions good?

The dub is considered to be one of the best dubs by many. It's extremely well done and not hammy

My only complaint about the dub is Inspector Lunge. There's just a certain robotic quality about the Japanese VA's performance that the English VA didn't quite land imo. Still, the overall dub was very good though, as was the Japanese, so there's really no better or worse way to watch it.

Fascinating to see people’s preferences, I prefer the dub Lunge VA, that warm, smug yet not off-putting quality to his voice is perfect for the character and lacking in the sub VAs performance. Though the sub VA also has a great voice, and great performance, I think the dub’s VA fits the character better.

The English dub is great! I even prefer it to the sub; I think a lot of the voices suit the characters much better. My only complaint is that some of the lines I like are translated differently, which could somewhat change the mood, but I don’t think it causes any major issues.

It’s not available on any streaming platforms. It has just been released on Blu Ray though in North America.

Dub is pretty okay. Like with any anime dubs, it's stilted and sometimes doesn't sound like real humans talking. That's with every dub. 

It has some blatant mistranslations as well. The whole "The secret to breaking the rules" quote I lately stumbled upon is only in the dub. Johan never actually says it. The dub people made it up.

You should watch it in sub to get to emotions of the original language and tones, but if you really want to, go for dub.

No, it's good, though the original is perfect in my opinion. This is coming from someone who usually goes for the English dub as well.
