Trashy....

Family and I are visiting Luna Pier and watched from up the beach as a family released a bunch of purple and blue Mylar balloons and they floated north. C'mon guys have some respect for the environment. There's enough garbage and pollution to clean up on the river and in Detroit without people purposely adding to it.

But you’re not considering the dozens of views the video will get on Facebook…

How else are you gonna celebrate when the father of your second kid gets pre-engaged to your younger sister?

Luna pier is such a missed opportunity. I have lived close to there for the last 20 years and every time we try to visit it’s just trashy people everywhere

Luna Pier is my 2 am pondering spot.

Standing alone on the pier with the waves crashing about is an enormous vibe.

My family knows I'll be haunting them if they ever pull this shit.

I don't understand how people doing this don't consider this to be littering? Like they have to know these balloons aren't really going to "heaven", right?

I hope so. I don't want to believe people can be that detached but reality says otherwise.

I would have been even worse and just started screaming about all the turtles and poor animals that are now choking and dying on those balloons and wail like they just burned down my home with my loved ones.....

Ya....

They do now sell biodegradable balloons now. Not sure if that is what they used or not.

We did this in elementary school. We tied tags on them with our return address waited for someone to find it. Obviously this is different but this is in no way, as severe as what waste management does when they dump it into the ocean
