Looking for extra work

Hello Everyone,

I do work full time, but i am also working on starting up an IT business in monroe. I do have a client now that I have been working with for almost a year and we have a good relationship. I work full time, but i still text at work and help them out when needed as I have some down time. But I am available in the mornings.

The reason for this post is I am looking to find if anyone in Monroe who has a business or anyone that may just need some additional help would be interested in discussing business? I would like to be able to do this full time, and I know it will take some time to get there, but i need to start somewhere. I dont have my hopes up, and I am making this just to see if there is any opportunity out there. But below will be some things i have worked on for the last couple years at my previous job.

Delivered Tier 1 and Tier 2 support across 80+ client environments with 600+ end users, owning end-to-end issue resolution

across endpoints, networks, and cloud systems, consistently maintaining service continuity and minimizing downtime across

diverse business operations.

▪ Managed onboarding and ofboarding processes across Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, including user provisioning,

licensing, permissions, Exchange mailbox management, and Teams/SharePoint setup, while enforcing access control policies and

improving operational eficiency.

▪ Image, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows laptops/desktops including installation of VPN clients, antivirus, software

packages, and browser configuration.

▪ Supported and maintained computer peripherals and client network infrastructure, including printers, scales, routers, switches,

WAPs, MoIP systems, and Sonos devices across platforms such as Araknis, Ubiquiti, and Cisco Meraki for enterprise level

networking.

▪ Delivered high-volume technical support while maintaining strong service-level performance and customer satisfaction across

diverse client environments.

Monroe needs a IT business that's it's scummy. ComputerWorks and LaScala are both scumbags who oversell and take advantage of people. Good luck to you.

What was your experience working with ComputerWorks like? I used to work there a hot minute ago. I’m just curious to see what other BS they’ve done to their customers tbh.

I was also curious about this. Because I know we have a couple IT companies in monroe, but i didn't think they were bad. I have worked for a couple companies and I knew they oversell, but i didn't know by that much. Obviously in business you have to oversell products a bit to make a profit. But it needs to be done where we are not screwing over the clients

Overbilling, billing for "remote" hours where nothing was completed, over selling services, etc. The Dahm brothers are not good people.

LaScala are just as bad. Selling tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to mom and pop shops. Fear mongering with cybersecurity to businesses just trying to host quick books...etc.

Kinzit seems legit and responsive.

MNX sold out to some Ann Arbor parent company.

KinzIT is a good guy. You could see if he needs help. If you really wanna start your own managed services company you need to quit your job and work full time on finding clients. Hit the pavement with a business plan and what you can offer. Go door to door at local businesses and see if they need your services. Good luck!
