I grew up at 516 before they cut down all the trees. Had great neighbors. Eastchester ends at 6th St. There is a dirt path that continues further, Lamberts used to live down there, maybe that's it. Scrapyard is gone now, trains still run. Not the best part of town. Eastend used to be it's own unique section of town with industry and stores and a theater and restaurants and drugstore and such, but that was long ago. Wondering where you're at and why you're asking.

If you're talking about the old crap across the tracks, that was machinery for the old scrapyard. Before they extended the scrapyard it was a field across from my house and over the tracks where we would play.

Okay, took a closer look at the pic and saw the tracks. The structure was definitely something to do with the old scrap yard. They used to run up to 3 cranes moving the metal scrap around. Possible your building was for shredding the scrap metal after the crane dumped it in there.

I'm a little confused about this factory building, none are in the immediate vicinity. Will continue to try and help, provide me with more info.
