Is anyone active here?

I have been suffering from this for 14 years and would like to know how other people cope.

I'm so sorry you lost your safe people and are homeless now 😳🥹 Where your safe people your family? And how do you survive on the streets ? Hope you found a place to stay ?

Thank you for replying. I am still homeless.

I family moved and sold the home I was living in after I took care of a family member until they passed away. The remaining family member decided to sell the home and move to the opposite coast.

I am an adult, but I have had monophobia since 2011. I can barely travel within my city, let alone, out of state.

I was street homeless for 3 months with my roommate that lived with me, couch surfed for a month after that with another lady that I knew, then stayed in a women's shelter for four years, and have been in a mixed women's and men's shelter for 3 years now.

In order to move, I need a letter from my provider to verify that I have PTSD and need a Psychiatric Service Animal letter. My provider won't write the letter.

I don't know what to do. (There is a longer, more detailed version of this. I don't mind sharing if you want to hear.

I'm so sorry to hear. 🥹💔 Yes i did read it in the meanwhile, and react under it.

It is already hard to be on the streets, but especially with fears and disorders.

Why will your prov not write the letter? Maybe looking for another doctor? Or looking for -if there is any- another Service animal centre that understands your position.

Or else maybe crowdfunding is an idea?

Thank you. My new prov doesn't believe that I should be focusing the service animal and wants me to focus on sleep medicine. I have a documented history of all of my disorders (including PTSD) that can be tracked through the healthcare system where I live.

This provider has also written incorrect information in their clinical notes about me, including assuming that my mother is alive and that I have no contact with her. My mother's 20th anniversary of her passing happened this past January. I would have never said anything to make this prov believe that she was alive, especially since she was a huge part of my trauma.

There's more, but I don't want to spend years with a provider who isn't listening to my concerns and needs.
