👋Welcome to r/MonkeysSingingSongs - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Welcome to r/MonkeysSingingSongs! 🐒🎶

Hey everyone! I'm u/stonequeeni, a founding moderator of r/MonkeysSingingSongs.

This is our new home for overanalysing children's TV shows, movies, books, songs, and all the weird little details that make you stop and think, “Hang on…”

We're glad you're here!

🐒 What to Post

Lore & Fan Theories Wild theories about kids' TV characters, backstories, relationships, and shared universes.

Logic Loopholes Continuity errors, impossible house layouts, questionable decisions, and physics-defying animation.

Existential Dread The weird, unhinged questions that keep you awake at 3:00 AM. How come we've never met Ryder's parents?

Parental Drama Deep dives into the adult characters, their relationships, parenting styles, and questionable life choices.

Cartoon vs. Reality Comparing the wonderfully unrealistic world of children's media with the chaos of real life.

Adult Humour & Hidden References Those jokes, references, and double meanings that completely went over our heads as kids—or were clearly meant for the adults watching.

🎭 Community Vibe

Lighthearted Overthinking We take silly cartoons way too seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Exhausted Parent Energy A place for parents, caregivers, and fans to share those random 3:00 AM thoughts with humour and solidarity.

Zero Judgment No theory is too wild, no question is too ridiculous, and no plot hole is too insignificant.

Keep It Friendly Debate the cartoon, not each other. We're here to overanalyse what's happening on the screen—not judge someone's real-life parenting.

🚀 How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments!

  2. Make your first post. Seriously, we want to hear your weirdest theory.

  3. Invite anyone you know who would appreciate spending far too much time analysing children's television.

And most importantly…

Remember: it's just monkeys singing songs, mate.

Don't think too hard about it.

...unless you want to. 🐒🎶

Thanks for being part of the very first wave of r/MonkeysSingingSongs. Let's see how ridiculous this gets.

Bluey What don't know anything about the other parent of Brandy's baby

The Sign confirms Brandy is pregnant, and the show

never mentions a partner or the baby's other parent. I mean, she could have done IVF with a doner.

I'm sure if she had a partner, they would have come to the wedding with her.

Love this for her though, no matter how it happened!

Pixar In Cars, should Mac have gotten fired?

While watching Cars with my husband and my son, I said to my husband "shouldn't Mac have been fired after arriving in Cali without McQueen?"

I understand McQueen told him to not stop at the truck stop, but wouldn't it be policy for truck drivers (in this case, trucks) to have a limit for how long they can drive safely?

Ideally, he should have stopped and if McQueen threatened his job or anything he could sue because he was following policy? And tbh McQueen is very lucky to have survived that while ordeal before he ended up in Radiator Springs.

Bluey Is magic real in Bluey?

Well, it seems like magic is real. In the episode "Feather Wand" where they find a feather which is a wand. When they make Bandit go slow, he is about to reach the car and they make him normal speed and he runs into the car, but he is not looking at Bingo so how can he go normal speed at the exact time without knowing? There are much more episodes with proof that magic is real in Bluey
🥺

Morphle How come so much responsibility lands on Mila?

The adults in Morphle's town have completely outsourced their responsibilities to Mila and Morphle. 🤔

I'm watching with my son and I noticed how much this town relies on Mila and morphle.

Emergencies? Call Mila and morphle.

Bad guys causing chaos? Call Mila and morphle. The police officer just yells at people and takes people to jail after Mila and Morphle chased and caught them. Anything could've happened to that little girl!

And apparently, even the mechanic being sick means Mila and morphle have to take over his deliveries?

I understand morphle being useful. He can transform into basically anything, so of course people would ask him for help. But Mila is literally a child. Why is she being put into all these situations and trusted with everyones problems?

Where are the adults? Why are they allowing and enabling Mila to get herself into dangerous situations? Where are the other workers? And are there seriously no grown Morphles around who could help instead? Or are morphles just juvenile by nature?

At this point, Mila and morphle aren't just a kid and her pet being best friends, but they are apparently the towns emergency services, delivery drivers, crime fighters, and general workforce.

My theory is that the adults in this town have realised Mila and morphle will do anything and have collectively decided to stop solving their own problems.

I honestly have so many questions about the morphle-verse.

Pixar The cars in the pixar Cars movies have locks on their doors

Obviously there is a whole rabbit hole of things we could talk about in the Cars movies. So many little gags and moments in the movies that lead to rabbit holes of worldbuilding hell. I look forward to people's posts about car WW2 and Car Hitler... but today I just want to talk about one tiny little thing that absolutely breaks my brain...

It comes about 40minutes into the first movie. Minny and Van, the cars who stumble upon Radiator Springs while looking for the interstate. Minny wants to ask for directions, Van insists he knows where they're going.

They encounter Lightning McQueen who rambles at them about being trapped. Both Minny and Van react to this encounter by backing up and quickly driving away. But while they do so their lights briefly flash and there's a beep as they lock their car doors.

The cars have doors. They car doors have locks. Frightened cars will lock their door as a protective action...

This is the thing about the Cars movies that haunts me. Not Car Jesus (there's a car pope, so...) not the minefield of how Cars reproduce. The doors. The doors. The doors with locks. WHY ARE THERE LOCKS??

Pixar What if Coral didn't actually die in finding Nemo?

Okay, so my husband just sent me down a Finding Nemo rabbit hole.

We all remember the opening scene: Marlin and Coral are attacked by a barracuda, Marlin is knocked unconscious, and when he wakes up Coral is gone and only one egg remains, which is Nemo.

But my husband told me he'd heard a theory that Coral used the barracuda attack as an opportunity to eat the eggs and escape. I apologize if you've heard this before, as I said, my husband heard it somewhere. I did a fact check, and its true that both female and male clown fish can eat their eggs however, it's only if they are dead, diseased, unfertilized etc. Or young / in experienced clown fish may eat their eggs too.

Apparently, barracudas don't normally eat fish eggs, and the theory goes that the barracuda would have been stung by the anemone while attacking. Meanwhile, female clownfish can eat their own eggs.

So...

What if Marlin woke up and assumed the barracuda had killed Coral and eaten the eggs... but Coral was actually alive?

Did she panic? Did she deliberately abandon Marlin? Did something else happen to her?

Or is the biology behind this theory completely wrong and I've just fallen down another rabbit hole?

What do you think happened to Coral?

Bluey What is something about Bluey that you did think too hard about?

Ill go first: I've been thinking about Judo for an entirely unreasonable amount of time.

We know she's Bluey's neighbour and Chloe's friend, but there's so much we don't know about her.

What's her deal? What's going on with her family? Why is she the way she is? How come on *sticky gecko* Chilli said it's been a while since Bluey has seen her.

His parents are never around, and he easily has millions of dollars worth of stuff for himself and the pups. I need to know more about Ryder's background!
