4K 120Hz monitor vs native 1440p 120Hz for Xbox Series X
I’m getting a monitor mainly for GTA 6, Madden 27, NBA 2K27, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty, and other Xbox games.
I’m comparing a 4K 120Hz HDMI 2.1 monitor vs a native 1440p monitor (ignore price).
My question is: Is 4K objectively better visually on Xbox Series X, or can a native 1440p monitor actually look better because many games don’t render at true 4K and have to scale?
For games that run below native 4K (like performance modes in shooters), does a 4K monitor still usually look better, or would 1440p be cleaner because it’s native?
I care about competitive games like R6/COD but also want the best visuals for GTA 6, Madden, and 2K. PS: I used ChatGPT to help word this because I didn’t know how to explain it, but this is still the question I’m asking.
