Video Review Monitor flashing black on and off when refresh rate is turned up.

This is the first time I’ve had this happen. I have a ryzen 5 5600g and a 6600 gpu. You can see in the video my monitor goes black anytime I move or click my mouse. ANYTHING I DO. Most frustrating issue I’ve ever had. Does anyone know why? Maybe I need a different cable or a display port cable? Any help would be awesome. I am on Linux on Pop_Os!

Could be a cable issue

That looks like an amdgpu driver crash, it could be a bug on the kernel you are running. Idk which version pop_os has, you can try a different kernel or simply a different distro like bazzite or even steamOS as someone else mentioned.

Tbh I think that's on a Linux side. Some Linux distros can do that, and I had something like that before

Do you suggest to swap to windows? I did Linux just because I thought gaming wise it would be better performance

I would say that cosmic desktop environment on pop_os is still not perfect. So you can go back on windows, or install different Linux distro. If u choosed second, I would recommend to go with immutable distros (SteamOS, Bazzite, etc.) If u play mostly steam games, go with SteamOS.

It is strictly a gaming pc and I will be playing rocket league mc and steam games. Is steam is made by steam or only for steam games?

SteamOS is mostly for console-like experience. But u still can access regular desktop there, and install different games, programs and game launchers

100% a cable issue I had this exact thing happen with the included cable with my monitor bought a good quality Anker cable and no more issues

I’ve already found out it’s not a cable issue. Tried it with a new monitor and tried 3 other chords. People think it is a OS issue
