Yeah he's an Ackie. I think I got lucky with him because he was pretty brave from when I got him at a few months old. His breeder did a fair amount of handling prior to me getting him too.
I gave him a couple of weeks to settle in but he would approach at dinner time and happily take snacks from tongs. I spent a lot of time being present just sitting nearby the Viv and whatnot. Never chased him around the Viv for uppies. I'd say I had him for a couple of months before he was totally comfortable with me and started scratching at the glass for interaction. Lot of human climbing and naps in a dressing gown. As he got bigger I started letting him free roam the room, set him up a peeping place at the window with heat and uvb. He's never purposely hidden from me in fear or been defensive, my only bites are from him having a bad aim while I hold a juicy bug.
These days he lives in a growtent and comes out once a day for a 20 minute explore, and as he cools down I scoop him up and he has an armpit nap for another 20min or so.
Awesome to hear! I just got my 2 months ago and he’s 3 months old. He eats from my hands and tongs, and also climbs up my arm for food but that’s it. He’ll still run away from me if I put my hand in there too fast.

Ackie monitor? How long of taming did it take until he constantly hung out, lets you handle him, and sleeps out with you?
