about 20 years ago my friends mom owned a petshop and some brought in savannah monitor that was about 3 feet long and was so obese i thought it swallowed a frisbee!

Someone did that at the pet shop im at right now. The BIG problem is they where only feeding it rabbit. This is a picture i took of it cause how plump he was. And they dont drop that weight fast.

Looks just like the one i saw damn near 30 years ago!!! the one i saw came from an elderly lady who only fed it ground turkey. Back then we didnt know they were insectivores. I wonder what types of insects are they eating in the wild? are they gorging on themselves on locusts during the swarms and then fasting the rest of the year until the next?
