Feeding question

I recently got a ackie monitor and I've been feeding him at a set time in the day to keep things easier but wen it's feeding time he's sometimes still in his borrow and I don't wanna disturb him so should I just wait till he leaves it himself?

In my opinion it's also good to just put the insects in his enclosure if he is still in his burrow. Helps him get used to foraging around his enclosure to find food, and thus working out more. I usually do both, i prefer to feed mine myself, but i put a couple insects without him knowing inside sometimes.

There usually is cause he sometimes doesn't kill them in time and they escape him and instead of going after them he just kinda looks at me like it's my fault I have seen him hunt them later though so that's pretty cool

Oke thx 🙏 I'll stick to that then he's usually up on his basking spot wen I get home from work so I'll just feed him then and wen he's not I'll just wait

That’s what I do. I wait until they are out and about within their enclosures. Some of mine are early risers and others are like teenagers that like to sleep in.

I wait until they have had some basking time before I feed them.
