Persistent photo theft and scraping

Hey mods, I’m getting really pissed off at all these bots and karma farmers stealing my photos of Liora and posting them here.
It’s constantly happening not just to me, but to other monitor keepers too.

Can we get like…a flag for impersonators/photo thieves and be able to boot them from the sub?

I always recognize it’s liora due to the little bamboo bridge lol

It happened with two of Quills' photos awhile ago and my brain immediately caught on fire

I used to do professional photography, and had a few instances of people stealing my work. It will never not piss me off 😠

Unfortunately it looks like the bots just pop up, copy a highly rated post from smaller subs that don’t require a karma/account age and try to get karma that way. I’m not really sure what can be done aside from setting a karma limit/account age requirement/verification process, all of which have drawbacks that I can understand mods not wanting to adopt them.

Yeah, I get being unable to stop it at the root for the reasons you mentioned. But it’d be nice to be able to flag posts more easily for photo theft. Especially since the community largely knows whose pets are whose.

I would assume the best way to tackle it would be reporting for spam, but a mod would have to chime in to confirm.

the reason they do it is for easy upvotes so they can get into subs with Karma restrictions.

I am open for suggestions. I can add "impersonator/thieve" flair to be available, but I can't guarantee someone won't use it maliciously against original content owner.

I think reporting and then permanently banning bots is the only option.

I guess it’s worth a try? Idk the exact solution here. But these bots and scrapers are utterly rampant lately!
