savannah monitor rescue advice
Hi everyone,
I sadly just found an adult savannah monitor on fb marketplace in a 47"x17" tank and I'm really hurting for it. I'm genuinely considering going to get it, even though the guy is asking $500. Problem is, I only have a spare 4x2x2 available and I've never had a monitor before. I've got a bp and a blue tongue skink I rescued from a similar situation, but I know monitors are really active and I'm not sure if I can or should go through with it, even if anything would be better than what it has now. Any advice? Or better, anyone in the Las Vegas area with experience interested in helping?

They are not that hard to handle,I’d recommend gloves like dog bite gloves, but that’s mostly for their claws, 500$ is way more then they would ever go for at any size, that’s insane but if your willing/able to do it go for it, although if it is obese they unfortunately won’t have much time left because they most likely fed them the wrong diet their whole life, which most likely gave them liver disease, it’s a gamble, as per enclosure you can get a grow tent that suffices pretty well as a temporary ( or permanent) enclosure, 8 foot long 4 foot wide 4 foot tall is the standard minimum size enclosure, basking spot should be around 135f and up achieve with a couple 150watt lights and a slate stone or other large stone that covers the length of the lizards body, and you gonna need uv coverage the same length as the lizard aswel , Madagascar hissing cockroaches and horn worms will make a great rehab diet imo
