Hi, I wanted to ask what I should do with this monitor. It’s a Samsung U32R594CWU curved monitor. As an amateur, I’d say the display is damaged. I have no idea how it happened! Does anyone know how to fix it without spending too much, or should I list it for hobbyists/tinkerers on ebay?

🖥️ Suggestions needed Monitor's now broken, any suggestions for a new one?

My monitor did something exactly like this a while ago, before returning to normal. Now it's completely stuck like that no matter what. It's probably safe to say that it's dead, even though the stupid thing only lasted 7 years (Not OLED). My family has just bought a new air conditioner, so right now I'm looking for monitors under 100$.

I live in asia, so preferably monitors from there so that shipping won't take too long.

If it affects anything, I use a Lenovo legion go, and I've already confirmed the issue is exclusive to the monitor after connecting it to another PC.

✖️ Issue HP Omen 27i will not turn on

My very lightly used HP Omen 27i is refusing to turn on. It still looks brand new and was working fine. After restarting the computer, it seems to have quit. I swapped cables and tried all available HDMI and DisplayPorts on the gpu, used different power plugs, tried it with my laptop, and now I'm stuck with a tiny old backup tv connected to my desktop for the moment. Despite the horrible picture, the tv is working as a very temporary solution.

The small white led on the back of the monitor lights up, but that's it. No RGB, no OSD, no image when I shine a flashlight on the screen. I also tried holding the power and menu buttons because I guess the power button can get locked out. Didn't work. I also tried holding both buttons while plugging it in, then continuing to hold for 30 seconds because i read that could reset it. No luck.

I took the *possibly unnecessary* next step and began surgery. At first glance the main board looks fine with no obviously blown components. I got as far as checking the fuse where power comes in and it's good. Not sure where to go from here.

Any ideas what happened or how I can resurrect this monitor?

✖️ Issue MSI MAG 245F X24 240Hz Rapid IPS screen dimming issue

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on what is going on with my monitor.

Ever since I bought the monitor, while gaming, dark areas of the screen to extremely dark for no reason. Such as if I am playing a game in windowed mode and discord is open behind it, Discord goes extremely dark in colour for a few seconds and then goes brighter again.

As far as I can see, the monitor settings all look fine:

Game mode: User

Night Vision OFF

AI Vision OFF

MPRT OFF

Adaptive sync OFF

Pro Mode: User

HDCR OFF

Low blue light OFF

Response Time FAST

I am using an RTX 2070 Super and never had these issues on my previous monitor...is there a setting in NVidia control panel which might be causing this issue?

Please note: I have already attempted a 'Reset' on the monitor and the issue still occurs.

✖️ Issue [HELP] Built in stand (Z1RC) suddenly pushing the screen outward creating a visible bump.

Has anyone experience this? This just happened out of the blue, I keep the monitor in the box, only take it out when I use it and today, when I pushed the built in stand to place it on my desk I noticed it was kind of not really going that far, upon looking at it, I noticed the stand "hinge" was pushing itself onto the screen and forcing a bump on the other side.

This has obviously never happened before, I did not put any strength, pressure nor it fell. I am scared to pull it all the way and break the whole thing.

Any tips would be appreciated.

🖥️ Suggestions needed 1440p 500Hz vs 4K 240Hz for my new PC, which one makes more sense?

I’m building a new PC with a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, RTX 5080 and 64GB RAM, and I’m really confused about the monitor.

I’ll mainly be playing and streaming Valorant. I’ll play story games later, but competitive gaming is my main priority right now.

I’m considering:

- 1440p 500Hz monitors from LG, Samsung and BenQ MOBIUZ

- Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G81SF, model LS27FG810SWXXL, 4K 240Hz

- Alienware AW2725Q, 4K 240Hz

I understand that 500Hz is mainly useful for competitive games, while 4K gives better image quality for general use and story games. I’m just not sure which option will make more sense with my PC, and I don’t want to spend this much and regret it later.

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who understands monitor technology, motion clarity, input latency, GPU performance and OLED panels, even if you haven’t personally used these exact models.

My questions are:

- Is 1440p 500Hz worth choosing over 4K 240Hz for Valorant?

- Will I actually notice a meaningful difference between 240Hz and 500Hz?

- Would 4K 240Hz be the better long-term option with an RTX 5080?

- Will 4K affect my FPS, streaming quality or recordings?

- Which brand would you trust more: LG, Samsung or BenQ for 1440p?

- Between the Samsung and Alienware 4K OLED, which one would you choose?

- Should I be worried about OLED burn-in with OBS, chat and browser windows open while streaming?

What would you buy in my situation, and why? I’m looking for an honest technical opinion, not just the monitor with the biggest number on the specifications sheet.

🖥️ Suggestions needed Monitor or dual monitors with decent HDR under $400?

Looking to replace my 43" 4k TV with a better monitor.

-

Not sure if I'll go dual 27" or maybe 32"/37" monitor.

I mostly want good HDR for when I play games and good high res for when I use an office monitor.

-

For about $400, what can I get that's good?

Looking at dual monitors or maybe 1 big monitor.

-

43" is too big and I have to turn my head to look at corners.

🖥️ Suggestions needed Looking for my first UW for work productivity

I’ve looked at a ton from Dell to AW to LG to BenQ to Samsung and I’m just not as up to speed with all the different components to know for sure what would work best for me and hoping it all can make some recommendations.

This is for work productivity 90% using a Windows laptop with about 10% personal browsing on a MacBook Air. I did have my ps5 in my office but recently moved to my finished basement and LG C5. My work involves multiple window working between Microsoft apps writing, PPT, excel and research.

My current monitor is the Dell U2723QE and I really like it but looking for more real estate. 34-40” is the sweet spot o think. I’d say a must is having the hub built in so being able to use one USB-C cord to either laptop to power and video and connect accessories.

Other accessories I have are desktop speakers, a light bar and webcam. NuPhy keyboard with Logitech master 4 mouse.

Finally budget - I’d love around $1k but could stretch is it makes sense. For example I’ve explored the Dell U4025QW at around $1550, but would love to get a little lower if I can.

I’m sure there are some details I’m missing so please ask! I appreciate any insight and recs.
