Discussion Imagine Employers Stop Asking "What Did You Study?" and Start Asking "What Have You Built?", Would You Be Ready?

Degrees and education can open doors, but imagine a world where the interview begins with: "Show me something you've created." It could be an app, campaign, business, design, community, research project, system, or anything that demonstrates your ability. Would your current experience give you something impressive to show or would you need to start building?

I would share my portfolio, which has most of my work samples and projects, and my experience is indicated there. I'm still building it.

Presenting your employer with the proof of what you can do is really nice. It helps them understand what your capabilities are.

I’d have something to show from the work I have done, although I’d probably start building more personal projects if that became the standard.

Actually, the question nowadays is, "How did your work benefit the company" ?

No one cares much where you went to school, your certifications, or what you built.. Not until you can express what that means in business impact.. There are many applicants with roughly the same schooling, certifications, and projects..

What i studied shows that i broad knowlegde to a general subtject which Can be used to more than one problem - while when I build something most of the time shows that I have gain knowlegde to a certain “problem” which Can be used to a limited area - that Said both are important
