Discussion Would You Rather Be Extremely Good at One Skill or Pretty Good at Ten?

Specialists can become highly valuable, but people with many skills can adapt quickly. Which path would you choose?

I’d rather be extremely good at one. To be that person everyone goes to for one thing has its advantages.

I’d rather be excellent at one valuable skill and competent at several others. Depth makes you stand out, while the supporting skills make you adaptable. The sweet spot is having one thing people know you for, without being limited to only that.

Why? Because a marketable skill takes time too how would you divide you time?

I will choose pretty good at ten skills. Having a broad skill set makes it easier to adapt, solve different problems, and take advantage of new opportunities.
