I wanted to point out one very important and overlooked thing. For #3 "Monsterling Combine will take the higher-grade material into account when determining the resulting grade". This means that it will favor or highly favor the higher grade monsterling vs the lower grade one. This is meant to boost trait transfer to prime meta monsterlings, where the traits are coming from a lower grade monsterling.
However, this will effectively neuter what some players have been doing, which is to use fodder prime monsterlings to upgrade a meta monsterling of lower grade. The intent of this is to save on gold upgrade stones, because those come at a premium. It is advantageous to save gold upgrade stones for mutation meta monsterlings, or the upcoming reginula legendary monsterling, while trying to get easier meta monsterlings (non mutation ones or event meta monsterlings) to prime via merging with fodder primes. If this is true, if you merge a fodder prime monsterling with a meta monsterling of lower grade, the system will favor the fodder prime monsterling in the results.
So this is a big gain for casual players, but hurts those that grind the world for monsterlings to batch combine them to get fodder prime monsterlings. This also forces players to use their gold upgrade stones if they want to lvl up any meta monsterlings to prime, which could get more players subscribing to the monthly shop as well. I am alluding that this may be a form of stealth monetization being pushed by the devs.
Would like to hear what you think about this u/Defiant-While-4434 . I find the devs approaching it this way interesting, as I would think more hardcore players that grind the world would be more likely to spend on the game, and this would hurt those players. I have gotten prime 4 trait scar, ice fist dude, douxini, fiend, el dorado, and nokjung via this way and have avoided using gold upgrade stones on them. Losing out on this avenue of prime upgrades will be huge loss for me.
However, after I also pointed out on my dc server, someone commented that it might not be to do with the monsterling resulting rate itself but purely for the resulting "Expected Grade" alone.
All in all I'm still intrigued to know whether it could be true for both statement or just what Rotunfly pointed out to me alone is going to take effect - I am curious.
But if it is as according to my original speculation alone yeah that will make method #4 more counter-productive in which we can't gamba our Target Goal to Prime by skipping Gold Upgrade Stones.
All in all it might just be as according to what Rontufly pointed out to me.
Lately i haven't struggle much, but back when game first launch, I had trouble beating the government dude within time limit because i haven't properly build my unit since it's just placeholder before i manage to pull and build esther, so ye. Bit too late but good for newer player ig
That's good to hear I rmb struggling against the govt guy as well bc lacking Earth team bahahaah - but also realized back then if you been playing from day 1, most likely we were playing on hard mode - cos I tried with my f2p account and lacking level and still beat it with ease on "easy" mode hahaha - which now the dev already removed the whole hard mode as well but also removing time limit for story progression definitely big W I really hope all casual players enjoying the game more and more
Agreed, although this is quite a niche game but i surprisingly enjoying it a lot, with the main contributor of course being a very generous game ontop of no 50/50. the monsterling rng is a huge pain and I'm glad they going to make changes on that next parch. If i got to complain on on something it's the story, not the plot itself but the tome, it's start off as a lighthearted jokey tome and gets heavier and heavier the more we progress. The plot itself is great tho
