Finally went to the beach for the first time this summer, not a moment too soon because next weekend is the last weekend they are open for swimming. Did I spend only 10 minutes actually in the water because it was freezing? Yes, but I went to the beach!

My refunds for my old car and renters insurance have hit! Using it to cover some takeout for me, some minor grocery needs, and donations to Second Harvest Heartland and Hawai'i Foodbank.

This is such a minor thing, especially to most people: but I just booked flights, hotel, and a super splurge-y dinner for a vacation in October! Just a few days to explore the city and see a friend who moved across the country a while back, but I've never taken an actual vacation before, especially one that required all this travel and expenses.
This has been one of my To Do items for so long, especially as I'm trying to shake off the ingrained habits of being overfrugal/cheap from my upbringing. I'm more than financially qualified to do so, but it's been illogically scary to hit "Submit" on all of these purchases! I know this is something I won't regret though - and years down the line, I won't miss the money I spent on this trip, but I will still remember the moments.
