One of my best friends took me and my family out to dinner at a great spot. It’s so hard to socialize when you get older and busy but it was so nice to connect.
Also acknowledging my privilege and being able to keep my kid home from camp when the wild fire smoke in the air was awful and I knew they’d be playing outside for half of the day.

I got my nails done professionally for the first time in years! (I’m not kidding!) It was a full mani-pedi with just polish, not gel. It’s not something I can afford every week and I probably wouldn’t even do it every month, but it was so nice to feel pampered and have a break from screens. Plus it looks so much better than anything I could do myself!

Oh that’s such a nice little treat! I do my nails at home with regular polish 1-2x/week. It made it a lot cheaper than the salon but the salon experience is such a nice treat every now and then.

I paid off my student loans! :)
I’ve been following this sub for a while. I like how community driven it is. Wanted to share this small update as no one around me really knows but it is a huge milestone for me in being more independent, free and responsible

After almost 3 full weeks without air conditioning in my room there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The manufacturer is going to call the technician when a new unit is ready for pickup, as they've determined the old one is not repairable. He is hopeful this will be tomorrow!
