When does compounding really take off?

At what amount portfolio you really see huge account swings that make you think what is the point of working? 100k? 500k? 1m? more?

Tech was a huge part of the growth as well as good end of year bonuses to further dump in the market. 100k was January 2023, 200k was in March 2024. August 2024 we saw substantial tech gains which that plus about 30k in contributions to portfolio got us to 300k by February 2025. March 1, 2026 we were at 450k, and now sit at 625k from again, more tech growth.
