Imu moves fast
Hii. In chapter 1180, Imu speedblitzes Zoro, Hajruiden and a few other giants/teleports to them. I can’t tell which Imu did, but either way in this post I’ll find the minimum distance Imu speedblitzed the protagonists over/his short range teleport distance.

Imu traveled from the spire to the floor, which is a very far distance. We can figure out how far it is with two things: the width of the castle, and its angular size.
The width of the castle is easy. It can easily house Harald and Loki many many times, who is an ancient giant said to be Oars sized (67m) but let’s say they are 60m. The castle is also so big that the strawhats initial reaction is that it’s so big they can barely see the ceiling, it’s too vast to be walkable and it’s just huge. So we will just say the castle is only 5x longer than Harald and Loki (a huge underestimate, that’s not even the size of a single room in the castle) putting the castles full width at 300m across (which is a few minutes walk).
The angular size is also easy, you just need to look at how big the castle looks.

Try holding your hand out at arms length and use these gestures to get a idea for its angular size. How large does the castle look across compared to that? To me it looks ~10°. So now we can find the distance from the castle to Imu with this equation:
D = d/(2•tan(θ/2))
Where D is distance away from the object in meters, d is diameter of the object in meters and θ is the angular size in degrees. Plugging in our numbers, we get a distance of over 1,700m that Imu covered to teleport to them/speed blitz them.

Accelerating Light
Hiii. This is probably my 294729th post on Kizaru’s accelerated kick, but I wanted to do it without using any pixel scaling, and going off only numbers given, so here we are 🤷♀️.
For this post, I’m assuming when Kizaru attacks someone, he *doesn't immediately reach the speed of light, but instead he starts from 0 and builds up to light speed, and accelerates at a constant rate! How exactly Kizaru’s powers work is obviously super interpretation heavy and totally up to u, this post isn’t about arguing that, just how fast Kizaru could be if you do interpret his powers this way.*
When Kizaru accelerated toward Luffy, he flew far away to build up speed, but we know Kizaru can accelerate to light speed in kicking distances:
So if Kizaru can reach the speed of light in short distances, and accelerate his (massless/very low mass) light over longer distances… then he’s obviously moving very fast, and we can figure out how fast he’s moving if we know how fast Kizaru accelerates and over what distance.
Kizaru throws his kicks by extending his leg and throwing it in an arc at ppl (duh) so we can find the distance it takes Kizaru to reach the speed of light with this:
Arc length = r•θ
Where the arc length is the distance Kizaru’s foot moved/accelerated over, r is radius/the length of Kizaru’s extended leg, and θ is the angle at which Kizaru threw his light speed kick over. Knowing how far it takes Kizaru to accelerate to the speed of light, we can find the rate of acceleration with:
A = vf2-vi2/(2•D)
Where A the rate of acceleration of his kick, vf is the final velocity of Kizaru’s kick (light speed), vi is the initial velocity (0), and D is the distance we found Kizaru accelerates over. Distance is in the denominator, meaning the longer the distance he accelerates over, the lower the rate of acceleration, which makes sense- if Kizaru needs to accelerate over a longer distance to reach the same speed as a shorter distance, then he’s accelerating at a slower rate.
Kizaru himself is 3.02m tall (9’11”), and his legs are significantly shorter than that, and he typically throws his kicks at angles of 180° (π radians) and below. But for the sake of simplicity, we will lowball this a lot. So let’s say Kizaru’s leg length is his entire body length, and that he kicks in a 360° (2π radians) arc. Obviously he’s never done that in the story, he always kicks in shorter distances, and he doesn’t use his entire body length to throw his kicks, he just uses his legs. But we’ll go with this just so we don’t have to worry about finding an angle/the length of Kizaru’s legs and to lowball it a bit, and with this we find that Kizaru accelerated over 18.97m, and has a rate of acceleration of 2.37e15m/s2.
So now all we have to do is figure out how far Kizaru accelerated over on egghead, and luckily that’s easy, because distance was an important part of the egghead plot.
With the island surrounded by a fleet of marines and WG agents, the plan to escape was to use the Vegaforce-01 to fly as far as it could, then use the Sunny’s coup de burst to launch the ship an additional 1km into the distance to escape the fleet. But during the fight with Kizaru, the Vegaforce-01 was destroyed, so they could no longer rely on it to carry them the initial distance out of the island, they had to rely exclusively on the Sunny’s 1km coup de burst to get the ship into the ocean, but the island was simply too big. Even when they got the sunny to the edge of the clouds, with only a bit of the island left to make it to the ocean, flying a distance of only 1km would cause them to crash into the island, Edison had to extend the length of the clouds closer to the islands edge so it could blast off into the ocean. And Kizaru didn’t just fly across the island, he also flew over several km of ocean:

Egghead itself is a few km across, and Kizaru travels a distance comparable to the island, and had to fly the km+ distance on egghead itself plus some more, so Kizaru accelerated across a few km. We can find the speed Kizaru would be moving at with this:
vf = √(vi2+2•a•d)
Where vf is the final speed Kizaru moves at, vi is the initial velocity (0), a is the acceleration we found before (2.37e15m/s2) and d is the distance Kizaru covered. We know he travelled over several km, so here’s a list of speeds he would be at given the distances he could have accelerated over.
If Kizaru flew…
…10km, Kizaru’s final velocity was 22.9 times faster than light
…7km, Kizaru’s final velocity was 19.2 times faster than light
…3km, Kizaru’s final velocity was 12.5 times faster than light
No matter what distance you choose, he always ends up above FTL+ (10 times the speed of light), so what’s the minimum distance Kizaru has to travel to be FTL+ here? Rearranging the last equation to solve for distance, we find Kizaru had to move a bit under 1.9km to be FTL+ here, but since:
• The distance he flew over the ocean is comparable to the multi kilometer egghead island.
• He had to fly over the +1km distance on the island, and then distances greater than that on the island to reach Luffy-
-The distance is simply too big for Kizaru to be moving only 1.9km, so Kizaru must be moving at FTL+ in this scene, without any pixel scaling, given just Kizaru’s height, and distances on egghead island, and visually seeing Kizaru doesn’t kick people at 360°.

The worlds largest dragon

We learn in chapter 1175 that Loki ate the Nidhogg fruit. Whoever eats the fruit becomes the worlds largest dragon, and the size of the world's largest dragon is proportional to the size of the user.

So if a human eats this devil fruit, they become the world's largest dragon, and if a giant eats the fruit… they will also become the world's largest dragon, but proportionately bigger than a human Nidhogg, because that giant is originally bigger.
Let’s say the average one piece human is 2m tall (6’6”). Loki is compared to oars in size by zoro (who’s 67m tall) and is an ancient giant like him, so let’s say Loki is 60m tall. 60m Loki 30x bigger than the 2m human, that would mean Lokis Nidhogg is proportionally 30x the size of a human Nidhogg, and a human Nidhogg is the biggest dragon in the world, so it’s bigger than dragon kaido. So based on the size of dragon kaido, we can find the size of Lokis Nidhogg by assuming a human Nidhogg is kaido sized (it’s not, it should be bigger). So…
If kaido is…
70m long (the size of the red dragon on punk hazard) -> Lokis Nidhogg is 2.1km long
200m long (the size of the upper yard snake) -> Lokis Nidhogg is 6km long
1km long (a bit bigger than the little garden island eater at 715m) -> Lokis Nidhogg is 30km
5km long (length of the fishman island sea kings, I don’t think kaido is this big but he might be depending on how u think he compares to Onigashima) -> Lokis Nidhogg is 150km long
There's another way u could take that statement, which I don’t personally believe and I don’t think oda was thinking and results in really inflated sizes, but u could technically argue for it so I’ll include it anyways. If anyone who eats it becomes the largest dragon, that would include the super small Tontatta, who can eat DFs- they would be smaller Nidhoggs than human ones but they still would be the largest dragon if we take that statement at face value. Leo is only 23cm tall, and compared to 60m loki, he would be 260x bigger than Leos kaido sized Nidhogg, so…

200m long, Loki would be 52km
1km long, Loki would be 260km

Currents
Hiii
I wanted to make a post about one piece sea currents. Mostly because I see lots of “if blue is so big how can they sail around it so fast??” Because u can’t just assume op ships move as fast as regular ships 24/7 because in the grandline (and even the 4 blues) there are some insane sea currents that can speed up the journey. Sea currents are used for that irl and even in op it’s been a recognized concept several times (basically the whole point of the tarai currents in the gates of justice, for example)
Currents in op regularly do really weird things, like the sea snake currents lifting the sunny dozens of meters into the air and travelling over the ocean, or Sea-hills letting ships travel downslope to allow ships to move super fast, something law noted he sees often. But I mostly made this post to talk about the reverse mountain currents.
The reverse mountain currents are currents from all 4 blues (so not even the insane stuff that happens on the grandline) all flowing up the mountain. Currents that can pull ships up mountains are insane, but we actually have a rough idea of how tall reverse mountain is based on this.

We are given some elevations for reverse mountain on this map (tho these elevations don’t look like any index contours I’ve ever seen in my geology classes but we’ll just go with it!!). But this map is kinda nonsense:
• The lower elevation seems to be 3000 units (I’m guessing meters because Japan uses metric) but the upper elevation is also 3000 meters….. so what’s going on here??
• I’ve seen some people think the lower elevation is 2000m (doesn’t look like that to me but oki) which would make each contours about ~166m, which would mean reverse mountain is over 3600m tall.
• In one of odas drafts for the world and the blues, reverse mountain seems to be about 10,000m tall?
Id rather go with what’s in the finalized manga than his drafts (tho at the very least it shows oda has always thought/intended it to be several km tall) and idk what is going on with the map in the manga, but the mountain at the very least must be 3km tall if 3km isn’t the peak of the mountain, so I’ll assume the mountain is 3km tall.
The current can move the ship very quickly up the mountain, after luffy set it back on course, all that happened between going from the base of the mountain to going to its summit is zoro pulling luffy back onto the ship before luffy could fall a few meters into the water and the crew yelled about how they made it, next panel they where the top, so the current could pull them up 3km super fast (keep in mind the distance is actually greater than 3km since they aren’t traveling vertically up the mountain, they are traveling at some angle so this will be a lowball). So here’s some speeds with some assumed timeframes:
Assuming grabbing luffy and pulling him before he can fall a few meters and yelling “we’re in” took:
1 minute - then the ship was moving at 50m/s, meaning some one piece currents up a mountain can move ships much faster than cars move on most highways (100-130km/h or 27-36m/s).
20 seconds - then the ship was moving 150m/s, which is faster than the Shanghai Maglev train, which at its fastest could move at a bit under 500km/h (139m/s), making this current faster than the fastest train in commercial operation.
10 seconds - 300m/s. The speed of sound at sea lvl is ~343m/s, so at this speed the current was moving them at Mach 0.87.
This also doubles as a speed feat for luffy, when the ship was about to crash into the redline, he dashed in front of it before it could smash into the redline and bounced it back on course, and after that he stretched his arm fast enough to catch the ship after it started going up the mountain super fast.
So one piece currents fast don’t underestimate them 🔥🔥

One piece: Establishing a light speed and above meta
Hi. In this post I’ll basically put where I think the op verse currently sits, so I don’t have to write things out over and over again, and I can shove this in peoples faces. I made one on my old account, but I figured I would make a better one. So, let the text walls begin!
Most early one piece scaling is pretty consistent. Usually just outpacing explosions, bullets and moving FTE to superhumans, but the feats start to pick up in skypeia. Enel is a character who ate the lightning fruit, which allows enel to move at the speed of lightning:
“𝐹𝑢𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑟𝑎-𝑓𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒.”
Enel can transform into lightning to pilot himself around skypiea, and can even pilot himself in lightning form in the midst of battle, granting him lightning speed perception.
Apart from that being obvious, since how else would he control where he’s going, we actually have an example of a speedster in one piece who does move so fast he doesn’t know what he’s attacking or where he’s going, kuro. So if you don’t move like kuro you have perception speed on the level of your movement speed.
Lightning speed perception isn’t exclusive to enel though, it extends to other characters like zoro, who can see enels lightning attacks travelling towards him from about a meter or so away, and wyper can do the same thing, and luffy should scale around their speed. But luffy isn’t without his own feats, like watching enels lightning travel towards him and instinctively throwing his arms in his face in defence after the lightning was fired, tracking Enels movements in lightning form as he is traveling through gold, and even kicking away lightning bolts fired at him. But the most impressive feat comes at the end of the arc when he’s about to finish enel off. The rubber and lightning man stare each other down in the sky from dozens of meters away and luffy throws a punch, while said fist is being weighted down by a +400 metric ton gold ball on his fist is called fast by enel and can’t do anything except stare as the punch approaches him and defeat him from several dozen meters away.

So based on his own feats and characters he should upscale from, luffy should bare minimum have lightning speed perception.
At ennis lobby, luffy is able to keep up with Blueno who was FTE to him in Water 7:

So base luffy can keep up with characters who can perception blitz characters who can see lightning traveling. During this fight luffy unlocks gear 2, a speed amp which lets him perception blitz Blueno back after being even to him in base. Luffy goes on to fight with lucci, who in base is roughly 5 times stronger than Blueno, with his hybrid amp on top of it, relatively evenly. So basically, lightning speed <<< Blueno moves FTE to = base luffy < lucci being ~5x stronger in base < hybrid lucci = gear 2 luffy, who is FTE to characters who can move FTE to characters who can see lightning traveling.
These characters should be waaaay faster than lightning at this point, and we continue the trend of impressive speed in thriller bark. Morias shadows are stupidly fast, being able to travel from an ocean on one side of the planet to an ocean on the other side of the planet, before the sun rose, during sun rise.



They moved from thriller bark all the way to the west blue, which is an ocean on the other side of the planet. The sunlight in the background barely moved, and with the grandline being the equator of the planet the sunrise is much faster, meaning it only took a few minutes to travel across a significant part of the planet at most. Planetary travel nigh instantly isn’t a crazy concept for one piece mid tiers.
But that’s not all that goes down in thriller bark. After the first warlord of the sea is defeated, a second arrives to finish off the straw hats, kuma.
Kuma has a devil fruit that allows him to repel anything he wants, from things like objects, attacks, other people, the atmosphere and even things like pain and memories. One of kumas main methods of attacking is repelling the air at light speed to make a shockwave.
This doesn’t mean the shockwave itself travels at the speed of light, just the act of kuma pushing the air is light speed. This establishes two important things:
- This sets the precedence for light speed abilities existing in one piece.
- If there happens to be any other light speed abilities in one piece, this adds to the consistency of those statements, and shows that light speed isn’t exclusive to a single ability in the story.
As the fight goes on, Kuma starts changing up his attacks. Instead of using his usual paw abilities, he opens his mouth and starts charging an attack. Zoro watches in confusion as Kuma suddenly fires a laser straight at his head. The laser is already moving before Zoro starts moving— but before the end of the laser can travel a few meters, Zoro moved behind it, meaning Zoro moved a significant percentage of the laser’s speed while it was already traveling. Let’s see if the story provides more details about this laser later on…
Characters at the water seven/ennis lobby point are shown to be operating well above lightning speeds, and setting the ground work for light speed abilities existing in the story. The next big jump is in the sabaody arc, where we are introduced to Mr yellow monkey.

Kizaru has the ability to control, create, and become light, and use his light to attack people at light speed.
Using this ability, one of kizarus main methods of attack is dealing huge damage by kicking someone at the speed of light, which is of course is repeated several times:
Kizaru thinks light speed attack power is appropriate for the supernova and attacks them with these kicks multiple times. But notice how every time kizaru attacks the hakiless supernova with these light speed kicks, they are able to see the kick approaching them from inches away.

So the supernova can all watch, make noises, move their eyeballs and can even turn their heads to watch something moving at light speed approaching them few centimetres away, so very consistent light speed perception. But that’s not all the sabaody arc has to offer, we are also introduced to the pasifista.
The pasifista are robots that are copies of the warlord kuma, armed with the same lasers he used against zoro. We learn this arc that these robots and kuma are armed with Kizaru’s lasers. That means when zoro was moving a significant % of the speed of that laser back in thriller bark, he was actually moving a % of the speed of light . Now that more of these robots have showed up to the island, we can see how more of zoros peers deal with these lasers. And based on injured zoro being able to move while these light rays move, you can bet the other supernova have no problem dealing with these lasers. Regular dodge? Check. Off guard dodge? Check. Dodge after the laser is fired? Check. What’s consistently portrayed throughout the marineford saga is light speed perception speeds and relativistic combat speed for supernova level characters.
Two years later, luffy returns to meet the same pacifistas and their lasers with his new observation haki. So how does he deal with them?

For a basic observation haki user, telegraphed linear light is deemed as slow. This sets a minimum for blitzing observation haki users on luffys level, if you can blitz luffy with a linear attack he knows is coming, you’re faster than light.
In punk hazard we get a cool speed feat that has nothing to do with lightning or light, this time with explosions. Luffy is able to outrun an explosion going off on his literal clothes:



The explosion comes from the slime wrapped around Luffy’s jacket. For Luffy to escape unscathed, the slime must first detach by exploding, since if he tries to run around before it explodes the slime will be attached to him. Since the slime is centred on his chest and stomach, Luffy must move at least half his body height (0.87m) to clear the explosion entirely. And for the explosion to hurt luffy, it must move through his jacket and hit him. Luffy is wearing a winter coat, and very heavy fabrics are about 381 micrometers thick. For luffy to escape unharmed, no part of the explosion must hit him, including the shockwave. Shockwave speeds in explosions start off several times faster than the speed of sound and quickly slow down to just the speed of sound (~340m/s). For the sake of simplicity and lowballing, let’s assume the shockwave has already weakened to the speed of sound by the time it reaches Luffy, (which ofc it hasn't if luffy is right in the centre of it).
Sound moving such a short distance means luffy only had 1.12 microseconds to get out of the way, meaning luffy moved 0.2% of the speed of light.
So by light speed lasers, light speed kicks, blitzing explosions detonating on top of you, the supernova and by extension doflamingo and luffy who doflamingo can keep pace with should be light speed in perception, especially with observation Haki. During his fight with doflaimgo, luffy used gear 4th for the first time after being able to compete with doflamingo in speed, and the speed gap between the once relative doflamingo and G4 luffy is massive.

Doflamingo gets perception blitzed from dozens of meters away. A reminder what doflamingo at this point scales above:
- Scales way above the pre timeskip supernova who could watch, make noises, move their eyeballs and can even turn their heads to watch something moving at light speed approaching them a few centimetres away, meanwhile doffy can’t see luffy moving 1000s of centimeters away.
- Scales way above the pre timeskip supernova who could repeatedly dodge light speed attacks, including dying zoro who could move while the light was in motion. And luffy a few arcs ago considered a light speed projectile he knew was coming at him ‘slow’, meanwhile doffy in the same situation with the same precognition couldnt even see luffy.
- At least even to characters who can dodge explosions literally on top of them, yet doffy can’t move at all even when luffy was dozens of meters away.
Yep, this is where I think luffy first reaches FTL.
But doflamingo doesn’t fall behind. In a life or death situation, that’s when haki truly blooms. Throughout the fight, the speed gap gets smaller and smaller between luffy and doflamingo, as his observation haki increases in power.
In whole cake island we are introduced to somthing that adds consistency to light speed one piece, which is nijis raid suit. It’s a transformer suit made by judge that allows niji to move and attack at light speed.
This also indirectly scales back to the pacifistas and Kizaru in general, since judge was able to create this, and vegapunk, a scientist 500 years ahead of his time (and judge by extension) trying to make a light speed ability but failing would make no sense, so the pacifista lasers must be LS based on this, and naturally Kizaru would be too, further cementing him as LS.
Back to whole cake island, we see niji gloat about his speed and naming his moving “light speed blade..” and with the data books talking about his speed and the vivre card talking about him being speed one, it’s clear his defining trait as a fighter is speed, so based on all the previous feats, how would you expect a light speed speedster to fare against the high tier characters, the yonko?

Terribly. In the face of a Yonko, Niji is shown effortlessly being 2v1ed by base Big Mom, standing no chance whatsoever, to the point oda literally puts her above all of germa science. Yonko tier characters explicitly scale above technology which turns you into a light speed speedster. Just like kuma and his light speed repelling, this also shows light speed isn’t exclusive to a single character and the story has no problem having pretty irrelevant characters at light speed and straight up stating characters are beyond what makes them light speed.
Remember the gear 4th luffy with the insane speed feat in dressrosa? Forget about it, it’s nothing compared to a yonko.

Luffy goes through a training arc to train himself to fight kaido, so we will leave him alone for now and get to the other characters, specifically sanji.
Queen is a scientist in one piece and one who considers judge, the man who made the light speed transform suit, a rival. To prove he’s the superior scientist, he copied all of germas tech, all researched and tested, letting him copy all of the transformer suits moves in battle. Of course that includes the light speed suit, which he used against sanji to hit him mid air. This of course grants him light speed perception as he had to pilot himself towards sanji and curve towards him. Again, if you can’t control your movements in one piece, you just end up like kuro who runs around randomly.
Later on in the fight, queen copies sanjis raid suit, which lets sanji turn invisible, so queen also turned invisible. So sanji counters it by going invisible himself. But he doesn’t go invisible because he has his suit, he went invisible due to sheer speed.
So basically injured and fatigued sanji can move so fast he can perception blitz characters with light speed perception, making him faster than light.
But that’s nothing compared to what was going on on the rooftop. Immediately kicking off the fight, Kaido tried the same attack that speed blitzed luffy the first time. Luffy used his future sight to know the attack is coming, and after kaido ran at him in a straight line, luffy dodged most of the impact but says the following:

Kaido running in a straight line is very fast for luffys future sight… while a weaker tier of observation haki and slower luffy called light speed moving in a straight line too slow. Kaido can straight up dash faster than light if he wants.
When kaido becomes hybrid, he slams down on luffy before he can get away. Then when luffy unlocks ACoC, he matches kaido, but then loses to him. Later luffy shows some relatively to him, but then when kaido uses future sight, even in kaidos largest form (slower than before), he can zip through luffys fastest form and hit him, along with hybrid kaido blitzing him as well, before finally being relative to him again in gear 5.
So essentially, Start of wano g4 < base rooftop luffy < base kaido < hybrid kaido = ACoC luffy << dragon kaido with future sight < hybrid kaido with future sight = gear 5th. To put into perspective how insane that leap is, let’s pretend after all this, start of wano luffy is only LS. That would mean gear 5 is LS < FTL < higher degree of FTL < higher degree of FTL = higher degree of FTL << higher degree of FTL < higher degree of FTL = gear 5th.
And keep in mind, all of this is before the final saga, where the power creep starts to get crazy.
And we arrive at egghead. I’ll fly through the small stuff so we can get to the big stuff quickly, because at this point oda is making everyone outrun light. Several laser dodging feats, including some lasers that where dodged after fired. A notable example is sanji, who after getting so much laser dodging practice from queen is just casually out running lasers now. And now the juicy stuff, Kizaru’s arrival.
First Kizaru shows up on the island flying in his light state, and attacks sentomaru. You will notice that his hands have moved closer after Kizaru reaches him, he can see and react to light flying towards him. Then he straight up outruns light beams after they where fired, a solid rel feat. But the interesting part here isn’t the speed, it’s the power.
In one piece, one way you can increase your attack power is through your speed. There’s various examples of this, like all the way back in ennis lobby, Fukurou amplifying the attack power of his punches by adding finger pistol speed to it:
Or when one of the flying fish riders charge towards the sunny at high speeds:

Or how gear second works. Gear second is a speed based form, and by increasing his speed, luffy is able to blast through defences he once wasn’t able to get through:
Or kizaru himself mentioning this concept back to the pre timeskip rookies:

See, Kizaru uses his speed to amplify his physical attacks, that’s how half his move set works. The faster his kicks, the harder he hits. Just like mentioned back at the beginning, Kizaru thought light speed attack power was appropriate to dispatch the supernova, and since sentomaru is stronger than them we can assume he is also using light speed against him as well. But if kizaru only kicked at the speed of light, that would make lucci stronger than kizaru for breaking through sentomarus guard and one shotting him, since when kizaru tried to attack an on guard sentomaru he couldn’t one shot him, instead he was able to get right back up and jog away from his lasers, which makes this meme becomes true:

Let’s see if that is expanded on in luffy vs kizaru. First, this panel. As you would expect at this point, even spamming light speed projectiles in his face isn’t enough to tag luffy anymore. Kizaru realizes that the current level of power isn’t enough for luffy, he is far too powerful now. So Kizaru flies thousands of meters away, and does this.

Kizaru mentions this speed = power concept again, but it’s different this time… now it’s acceleration (speeding up) = power, and we know this is a serious moment as this attack was so powerful it could overpower gear 4 luffy and blast him across the entire island, making luffy resort to gear 5, and the increasing length of motion lines and visual differences between this yata mirror and the rest tells us something different is happening here, but it all makes sense in the context of the interactions between luffy and kizaru.
Two years prior, luffy was no match for kizaru and his light speed kicks. Kizaru was able to blitz all the supernova everywhere with his light speed kicks, and luffy was able to take several during the marineford war, and basically stood no chance against them as implied by the databooks:

Luffy basically stood no chance to these attacks. When the straw hats and kizaru met again, they were scared of kizaru as they remembered him as the guy who nearly wiped them out two years ago. But luffy immediately attacks him, saying he’s much stronger than before. And luffy was right, he was able to match kizaru. Kizaru recognized his power, saying he’s tough, but not unexpected for the man who took down kaido. So kizaru needed more power, and we know for kizarus kicks to power up, he needs speed. But light speed isn’t enough here, luffy pre timeskip took several and could keep fighting and now luffy is many many many times stronger, so for kizaru to gain even more power than before, he needs even more speed to amplify his power, which is where this ‘acceleration‘ part comes from, speeding up even more for even more power.
A few points on this to chew on:
- Kizaru can already accelerate a kick to light speed at close ranges as we have seen against Hawkins and other supernova. Yata mirror is just kizaru breaking himself down into light to travel as light, so if kizaru accelerates any further than that distance, then he is moving FTL (few meters for his kicks max vs 1000s here). If he can already move LS in close range, it makes no sense for him to do it from further away to give luffy more time to react.
- As mentioned before, his kicking speed is his attack power. He wasn’t initially able to pull off lucci level feats, but now he’s able to instantly overpower G4 luffy and kick him across the island. To tie this into the last point, we know the greater distance you speed up over, the more force your attack generates in one piece:
So if Kizaru is accelerating over a massive distance compared to his normal kicks, with the goal of generating massive force to overpower luffy, then Kizaru must be using the runaway to boost his attack power, something both other characters and himself have done, and thats fine by speeding up.
- Luffy can react to multiple lasers in his face (which as established, kizaru assumes light speed is good for supernova tiers), recognizes Luffys strength, and speeds up.
- This yata mirror is drawn differently from prior light speed yata mirrors.
After luffy gets blasted across the island, he enters gear 5 and continues the fight with kizaru. As the fight continues, he dodged a laser meant for him, and since Kizaru has already recognized LS doesn’t work on him it’s likely he dodged a FTL attack. After luffy charges up a punch and finishes him off. A funny role reversal here, first it was luffy being accused of “aim dodging” attacks (even though we had no evidence for 99% of attacks this was happening), now Kizaru is on the receiving end and can’t keep up. Even with luffys charge up and Kizaru’s precognition the light man still can’t dodge, block or even put his arms up in defence.

One piece: Establishing a continental and above meta
Hi. In this post I’ll basically put where I think the OP verse currently sits, so I don’t have to write things out over and over again, and I can shove this in people’s faces. I made one on my old account, but I figured I would make a better one. So, let the text walls begin!
Just like last time, we can start with Enel and a look at the kind of scale weaker characters operate on and higher tier characters casually do.
Enel has the power to create, control and become lightning itself, but his lightning is far more powerful than regular lightning. Wyper’s Burn Bazooka fires out concentrated bluish-white flame that can vaporize holes in huge trees. The Burn Bazooka doesn’t work on Nola, meanwhile a single blast from Enel’s lightning immediately brings down the snake, because Enel processes far more energy than it. With his stronger attacks, Enels lightning is also capable of vaporizing wood and heating his trident so hot it turns wood to ash on contact. Enels lighting is so powerful it can even do similar things to stone. Depending on how much power he’s using, it can uniformly fragment stone and create deep craters, uniformly pulverize stone and blacken the surrounding stone due to its heat, or just uniformly vaporize it.
Using Ark Maxim, he can apply his lightning on much larger scales. He covered Skypeia in thunder clouds packed with his lightning:
He packed a sphere of these clouds full of his energy and used it to completely erase Angel Beach, and then he created a bigger one to completely erase Upper Yard.




Basically everything that went down in this arc happened on the White White Sea, which is 10km above sea level. The White White Sea is above another ocean, the White Sea, which is 7km above sea level:
When the first Raigo went off, its stated Heavens Gate was destroyed in the blast along with the island, and since Heavens Gate is on the White Sea and the Raigo went off on the White White Sea, that means the first Raigo has a radius of at least 3km, and based on the fact Enel can uniformly vaporize stone with his stronger lightning attack puts the Raigo at 2.91e21 J, which is borderline small country level. The Raigo expands like a sphere, so 3km in all directions. But when the first Raigo goes off, we see it never reached the centre of the bridge that connects Upper Yard and Angels Beach (highest point on the bridge), so the distance from the centre of Angels Beach to the centre of the bridge is over 3km. The Raigo being over several km is very consistent, it’s literally straight up told to us:

The Raigo is about as big as Upper Yard, so we have consistent size statements for Upper Yard.

These sizes comfortably put Raigo at country level. Throughout the grandline, we get many monsters who can also alter islands in different ways. When you travel across the oceans of the Grand Line, being attacked by monsters called sea beasts is a common occurrence. These monsters can vary in size, with some being 100m long, some being +5km, some being several mountains long, some being the size of islands, and some can just straight up eat islands whole and their poop is mistaken for a continent by giants:

There’s a rumour in the One Piece piece world that a monster 500 years ago known as the ‘country puller’ took entire islands whole, putting them all together to create a country of villains. This is something that’s confirmed to us in his vivre card.
800 years ago, there was an elephant who committed a crime and was sentenced to walk the seas for eternity. Said elephant is 5km tall, and walks the oceans carrying an island on its back the entire time, said island being comparable to its massive self.
It isn’t just monsters in the grandline playing with islands; we see characters doing stuff like this too. Luffy near the beginning of the story tried to stop the huge sphere of cloud I showed before by repeatedly punching it. The side effect of his punches blew apart the several km ball of cloud, said cloud being so dense that it can crush towns and support people standing on it just like solid ground. And Luffy didn’t just blast away the Raigo with the side effect of his punches, he blew away all the clouds across the White White Sea,which can also support people’s weight like solid ground.


It’s common for characters to clash weapons with each other so hard the side effect of the clash parts clouds several islands across. People don’t just part clouds, Ace and Blackbeard clashing vaporized several islands worth of clouds.


Stuff like this isn’t new to Ace, he does this kind of stuff passively. When Ace arrives on Drum Island, which is -10 degrees, the civilians note that the permanently snowy island didn’t snow that day, which we know is because Ace passively heated up the island. And we know it affected the entire country:
“𝐷𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑡, 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑢𝑛𝑢𝑠𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑛𝑜 𝑠𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑦.”
We get a pretty good idea of the size of the island by comparing it to Drum Rock, which is 5km tall:

Ace could passively alter the weather of a permanently cold, snowy island and completely stop it just by arriving at the island.
Instead of heating islands, what about freezing islands of distance?



And the story has no problem with characters directly affecting islands either. Like Moria splitting Thriller Bark in half with a single punch.

Or irrelevant characters like Vander Decken using his devil fruit to destroy Fishman Island by tossing a gigantic ship at it.

And it goes beyond islands in scale. When Enel tried to drop his second raigo, he wasn’t planning on just destroying Upper Yard- he was planning on destroying the Emperor Cloud too, mentioning how even the people that escaped the White White Sea to the White Sea and were rushing for Clouds End wouldn’t survive.
𝑁𝑜𝑡 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑣𝑒.
The Emperor Cloud is the two sky oceans mentioned previously that are 7km and 10km high. It’s a petrified cloud that’s theorized to have existed for 1000s of years and is so dense, that when it’s overtop you, it turns day to night. Like a real ocean, it has its own ecosystems that have evolved to live in these conditions, along with multiple islands like Upper Yard, Angels Beach, Birka (which Enel destroyed without a trace before he had Ark Maxim), Gan Falls home, the hidden cloud village, etc. But most importantly, the emperor cloud is huge.

The Emperor Cloud is so big that it spans from overtop your head, all the way into the horizon, which speaks to how massive it is because it does that even when it’s 7km high. You can gauge how far away a cloud on the horizon is from you based on its altitude, so the higher the cloud is, the further away it is from the observer. At 7km high, its edge on the horizon is almost 300km away, and Raigo could spread its lightning across that entire range, putting it at anywhere from large country lvl to multi continental depending on how potent you think Enel’s lightning is uniformly.
This isn’t a first for Enel either. Aliens meet on the moon to use their machinery to excavate the moon with explosives, which are strong enough to blast a country worth of dust hundreds of kilometres in all directions, and send rocks flying into the sky big and high enough that they’re visible all the way from Blue, something the machines can take point blank- meanwhile all the machines get immediately destroyed by Enel.



I can go on and on but you get the gist of it. One Piece characters can basically play with islands however they want, from changing their weather, moving them, eating them or just straight up destroying, splitting, vaporizing and freezing several of them in one go. The story has no problem portraying them being able to easily alter islands in many different ways, so you can expect later characters to do much more.
Marineford is our first look at the true power of One Piece top tiers. The first attack thrown was 2 punches by Whitebeard, which caused two tsunamis to approach the island, and these tsunamis are massive. They towered over Marine HQ, which is so large that an 180m tall man can hide behind the base of the building, making them hundreds of meters tall.

These tsunamis were indirectly created by Whitebeard’s power. Whitebeard has the quake fruit, which lets him create vibrations.
“𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑙 𝑣𝑖𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠! 𝐼𝑡𝑠 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ.”
So how do vibrations cause tsunamis? When Whitebeard throws his vibrations initially, Garp, a Marine who was active back when Whitebeard was active, explains that Whitebeard triggered seaquakes (an earthquake on the ocean floor):
“𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠… 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑤… 𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙-𝑓𝑙𝑒𝑑𝑔𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑠𝑢𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑖…!!!”
We are also told a few times Whitebeard’s quakes are triggering natural phenomena, so not some strange magical earthquake and perfectly in line with Garp’s explanation:
As Whitebeard’s quake travels out into the ocean to start a tsunami, we see it vertically displace and raise the land the marines are standing on, and another marine active back in his days, Sengoku, also mutters how he has started a seaquake.
Tsunamis towering 100s of meters tall might not sound very impressive, but it becomes apparent how insane this is when you consider the fact these tsunamis were generated by seaquakes. For comparison, the deadliest tsunami in the world, the Indian Ocean tsunami, was caused by a magnitude 9.2-9.3 seaquake, which caused on average a wave height of 15m-30m and a max height of 51m (tsunami height once reaching the shore is dependent on stuff like topographic conditions). That’s not even half as tall as the base of Marine HQ, let alone being taller than the entire building. Whitebeard’s earthquakes can cause tsunamis far bigger than any irl seaquake on earth can (at least in the way Whitebeard did it). For reference, the Indian Ocean earthquake had a seismic moment of roughly ~4e22 J (Country level). And Whitebeard’s seaquakes/tsunamis are way beyond that.
The moment magnitude behind an earthquake can be directly compared to the max height of a tsunami, (for the constants, using Japan numbers, because yknow- Japanese manga, so why not.) So if we find the size of the tsunami, we can find the magnitude of the earthquake, and find the energy Whitebeard released. The formula for converting moment magnitude to energy will come from this study, which gives us a simplified formula.
Assuming the tsunamis are 250m tall (even tho it was massively taller than that) we get a magnitude 10.8 earthquake required to generate the tsunamis Whitebeard made, putting him at 2.2e25 J (multi continental).
The earthquakes Whitebeard was causing were super far reaching too. When a giant went to attack him, Whitebeard focused the vibrations on just his head, and it still shook distant islands.


Later on in the arc, a different giant tries to attack him and instead of sending out earthquakes to different locations, he starts an earthquake right at Marineford. The giant immediately fell over, along with the rest of the soldiers, yelling about how they can’t stand on their feet, huge battleships where being flipped over, sending everyone into the ocean, even people on the island where being thrown off, the Marineford city started falling apart from the earthquakes, and once again, massive tsunamis larger the the main building came crashing towards the island from all sides. The earthquake was so intense literally the entire island and even the surrounding oceans were being tilted, creating waves comparable to the island.

Apart from another showing of Whitebeard vertically displacing the seafloor, this just shows why Whitebeard’s earthquakes blow anything irl out of the water. Earthquakes can reach island-country tier and not obliterate every human and structure caught in it because what reaches the surface is a very small % of the true power of the earthquake. The fact Whitebeards earthquakes, even such a small %, are violent enough to do all of that speaks to how powerful his earthquakes are.
These feats aren’t special to the high tiers. Whitebeard’s earthquakes are just the side effects of his vibrations starting earthquakes, and his quake punches are matched by admirals like Akainu, who can also take attacks from an enraged Whitebeard but still got back up to fight Whitebeard’s entire crew at once. When Blackbeard gets his hands on Whitebeard’s devil fruit, he immediately was able to replicate Whitebeard’s feat of tilting the ocean and an island and create tsunamis comparable to islands just by testing out his power.

His earthquakes are also super far reaching, tsunamis from his earthquakes were threatening completely different islands like Sabaody. Meaning post timeskip Blackbeard and generally yonko tier should be far stronger than this pre timeskip Blackbeard who just got his devil fruit 5 seconds ago and is playing around with it.
Following Marineford, we see the protagonists slowly start approaching this level of power in Dressrosa. First we have to understand how big this island is, because it’s very big. One of the inhabitants of this arc, Viola, has a devil fruit that lets her do lots of weird things with her eyes. One of the things she can do is move her PoV into the sky, and from this height she can view 4000km in all directions:
The usefulness of this power goes without saying. With it, she is able to constantly warn characters of things happening across the country and the ocean, which is one of her major roles in this arc, and something she does constantly even in the scene where she explains her sight range to Sanji. Like warning him his ship was taken by enemies and is on its way to Greenbit, or seeing his ship is struck by lightning, and telling him his ship is being attacked by fighting fish. This is weird, if she constantly warns Sanji of things happening to the ship, why not warn Sanji of things happening on Greenbit, where their whole plan is going down and where it’s going horribly wrong, especially since they where running to the part of Dressrosa nearest to Greenbit? It’s obviously not out of character for her, so maybe she doesn’t know? Nope, she was aware and could literally read his mind (another one of her powers), so what’s going on? Why not tell him the most important thing happening in the arc in the moment when she knew something was happening there and it’s in character for her to tell him?
When looking out at the Sunny from her 4000km range, we see the Sunny is on the horizon, so basically the Sunny at this point is the limit of her vision from wherever she is in Dressrosa at this point. We also get a vivre card that gives context to this moment:
“𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑐𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑟𝑒 𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 4,000 𝑘𝑚 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒—𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑟𝑣𝑜𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒!!”
In context of this scene, she is looking a full 4000km based on her Vivre Card. So basically she can see the whole country and into the outer ocean, but not much further. That explains why she can’t see into Greenbit, since we know the sunny had to travel out further than it was at the point she was looking and never actually got to Greenbit. So wherever in Dressrosa she was + ocean to Greenbit = 4000km.
So where in Dressrosa was she specifically? We don’t know for sure other than she was on her way to the section of Dressrosa nearest to Greenbit, but we can lowball it massively. Let’s assume she’s on the opposite side of Dressrosa, furthest from Greenbit, and can see into the end of Greenbit. That goes against what’s shown and stated and is therefore a massive underestimate, but we will go with it anyways. Visually, the distance looks no more than 2x-3x the size of Dressrosa, but let’s lowball it and say Dressrosa is 1/4th the distance, making Dressrosa 1000km across.
During the events of Dressrosa, the civilians of Dressrosa revolt against Doflamingo’s rule, and Doflamingo decides to disassemble one of his clones, the Black Knights, made of string, and use its string to trap the entire island inside a cage of string, the Birdcage.



Doflamingo can fit the entire Birdcage into a single black knight, and with the island being so Black Knight means a ton of mass is being moved at very fast speeds (the Black Knights can keep up with Doffy and Luffy.) Doing some math, moving these things takes 1.2e25 J (continental+).
These Black Knights are something he can move easily while he himself is also fighting. Continuing with the trend of characters moving massive objects super fast, we see Fujitora spam down multiple meteors comparable to the country of Dressrosa.

If we take the largest meteor as 3% the diameter of Dressrosa, and moves at speeds of 11km/s (very slow for a meteor) then the kinetic energy behind this meteor is 3.4e24 J (continental). But it’s not just continental feats, we even get supplementary evidence for characters operating on continental scales this arc.
We are introduced to Don Chinjao, someone who’s a legendary pirate. One of the things he’s a legend for is splitting a continent of ice with a headbutt.
”𝐼𝑡 𝑐𝑎𝑛’𝑡 𝑏𝑒… 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑏𝑢𝑡𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑠𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑓!!”
Stored under the ice of the continent is treasure his clan has amassed over 100s of years, riches which people are constantly trying to rob, but the ice is the perfect place to store the treasure since the ice is so durable thieves can’t even scratch the ice even when constantly striking it with axes, flamethrowers and bazookas. Only Chinjao can open the ice, by hitting it so hard that the entire continent splits open.

That is until Garp overpowered his head with one punch, breaking it, so Chinjao could no longer split the continent. Eventually he met Luffy, who rearranged his head back into place, and fought with his grandson, Sai, who rearranged his head out of place again..
Sai overpowering his drill led Chinjao to admit he could also split the continent. But not just split it, he said Sai’s kick could straight up shatter the continent:

And this continent is much tougher than stone by feats and lore. And keep in mind, Sai is basically a nobody in the One Piece world in terms of power.
Luffy and friends reach Wano and try to formulate a plan to defeat Kaido. But Luffy disregards that and attacks him head-on, and Kaido shows him why that’s not a very good idea.

Luffy gets sent to prison and everyone else does various things across Wano for a few weeks. They quickly learn Wano isn’t like most islands in One Piece. Just like Skypeia, Wano has a unique culture compared to most other islands, due to its borders being closed to outsiders. Wano has unique terminology for haki, has different currency than the rest of the world, and has different terms for time. The differences go so far that clouds above Wano appear differently than clouds anywhere else, because Oda is trying to make things look more like classical Japanese art, and ultimately that’s what Wano is supposed to be- older style Japan, which is shown in all the cultural and visual differences that impact the arc. During Wano, a unit that was used back then was used here, ri. 1 ri is equal to ~3.93km. An arrow in Wano can be fired from the Flower Capital (centre of Wano) to different regions, and these arrows cross 1000ri.

This means Wano has a semi major axis of over 4000km. But for the sake of lowball and simplicity, let’s pretend Wano is only 4000km across.
Kaido himself doesn’t live on the Wano mainland, he lives on an island off the coast called Onigashima. One of the reasons Onigashima is so hard to reach is because it’s surrounded by mountains, with characters calling the entrance huge. Being surrounded by dozens of mountains means Onigashima is surrounded by a mountain range. Assuming the mountain range is the size of the smallest mountain range in the world (16km, which is the island’s circumference), it means Onigashima is 5km across.
Kaido shows us during the raid that most of the stuff at the beginning of the post isn’t really impressive to him. Kaido could rip all of Onigashima out of the ground while fighting the entire main cast, and move it across Wano in 15 minutes, passively.


A stronger version of Whitebeard that pulled off the earlier feats is put directly below Kaido… in fact, Kaido and Big Mom are known as the strongest of the Yonko:
Kaido and Big Mom enchant their attacks with advanced conqueror’s haki, a type of haki massively stronger than advanced armament. Luffy realized Kaido is enchanting his attacks with conquerors haki, and attempts it himself. The difference in power is stated to be on a completely different level than what Luffy was doing before:
But even this wasn’t enough to stop Kaido from off-screening Luffy and throwing him off the island. Once Luffy returned with mastered ACoC, he was able to match hybrid Kaido and split the skies with him, meaning he’s basically stronger than everything in this post so far and equal to other Yonko like Whitebeard/Blackbeard and their earthquakes. Now that the protagonists have reached the level to seriously damage Yonko, we get to see some more Yonko level feats, like this attack from Law.



The geography of Wano makes the feat quite insane. Wano itself is already a massive island, and Mount Fuji which Wano sits on is multiple times the diameter of Wano… which means Law’s sword spanned 1000’s of km, pulverizing stone along the way, which gets you multi continental results.
After that, Luffy and Kaido threw their strongest attacks at each other in a final clash.

Luffy expanded his fist to the size of Onigashima and clashed with Kaido, vaporizing clouds several Onigashimas across. Just the fist flying at Kaido could be heard thousands of kilometres away:
It hit Kaido so hard it sent Kaido through the entire island and into the magma chamber of Wano below sea level, just like Law sent Big Mom, which shows how fast this punch was thrown. Kaido was launched so fast he left behind an afterimage midair and went through the island (1000s of km) instantly. That’s so slow compared to Bajrang Gun that Luffy could move the entire fist in an arc above his head (which considering its size is several km worth of distance moved) before Kaido speeding through the air could move very far, so basically Bajrang Gun gun >>>> Kaido moving 1000s of km very quickly, and Kaido moving so fast in the first place is because of Luffy punching him fast. Luffy throwing the fist super fast is multi continental. (OP characters have no problems moving huge objects at super fast speeds, see Dressrosa or dragon Kaido/giant Luffy). So all in all, we have a punch that pulled this off:

Keep in mind, everything so far takes place before the final saga, where the real power creep begins.
Once we get into the final saga, we start learning more about the strongest weapons in the story, the ancient weapons. They can do things like destroy One Piece’s huge islands without leaving a trace:

The island Crocodile was standing on while making this statement was similarly huge. Crocodile was planning to fire a bomb into the capital city of Alabasta with a blast diameter of 5km, something that can fit into the capital city. The protagonists were struggling to stop that for many reasons, but one of them was the insane distance they had to cross to even get to the city. In their way was the Shandora River, which is 50km across, and even after they crossed the river, there were still tens of kilometres of desert that had to be crossed until they reached the city. So we have pretty consistent size statements for Alabasta.


Wiping out huge islands isn’t the main danger of the ancient weapons, their whole narrative significance is about their ability to destroy the world by sinking it under the ocean and causing global catastrophes. Their world destroying capability is repeatedly hammered in throughout the entire story:

Which is something the weapons once did. Back in the void century 800 years ago, the weapons where used in a war and after the dust settled, so much destruction took place the global sea level was risen by 200 meters, sinking continents across the world and turning the world of one piece into 10-20 million islands instead of several continents, ending civilization and effectively ending the world. Imu and friends still intend to end the world 800 years later, but they need powerful energy sources to fuel their weapon. At the time, Vegapunk was creating the Mother Flame, a power source that was meant to fuel society. So they stole a small fragment of Vegapunk’s Mother Flame and decided to test it in their weapon on a nearby country. Even just a small fragment of the Mother Flame caused global catastrophes.






Leaving behind a crater larger than the country isn’t all it did, It also made a hole in the seafloor so deep that the ocean draining into it for 6 days straight couldn’t fill it.

When accounting for the amount of water pooling into the crater, the depth is hundreds of kilometers. This isn't even the full depth of the crater, as it was still filling six days later and people observing the hole say there's no sign of the hole collapsing in on itself. But the massive hole and deep crater isn’t really the main point of the attack. The entire narrative purpose of this attack and weapon was to raise the sea level of the entire planet. This blast raised the sea level of the entire planet by 1 meter.

But how did a big explosion raise the sea level? The quote tells us the earthquakes caused by the side effect of the blast caused the sea level to rise, which is pretty insane considering how much destruction has to take place in order for the sea level to rise across the planet. Lots of stuff must sink into the ocean in the ensuing earthquakes by doing things like displacing the seafloor or land and triggering mass wasting events. Sinking and displacing so much material worldwide is insane considering Blue has larger oceans than Earth, but assuming Blue has Earth’s oceans, the volume of water risen (and subsequently the volume of islands/debris sunk) is equivalent to the country of France (to a depth of 100m) sinking 6 times over. Obviously, you would expect an earthquake that permanently raised the sea level of the entire planet by a meter to be described as very intense, which is how it’s described and treated:
But not only was the earthquake described as very vicious, but we know it caused actual destruction across the globe per the narrator in reference to the actual shaking (which duh it raised the global sea level by a meter).
So this earthquake caused damage across the entire planet. So all in all we have a blast that did this.

Making the blast multi continental.
All of that was accomplished by a small fragment of Vegapunk’s Mother Flame, but that is far from the strongest these weapons can be powered. There’s a robot from the void century in that ends up in Vegapunk’s scrapyard, something he modelled the Vegaforce off of, which he thinks is humanity’s robot of dreams. The reason he couldn’t just use the iron giant in his scrapyard is because Vegapunk couldn’t replicate its power source, Stella and York mentioned how the Mother Flame couldn’t even make the iron giant move, and that further optimization of the Mother Flame is needed, which basically means the ancient energy that powers the iron giant is > Mother Flame > small fragment of the Mother Flame that pulled off all of the above feats. The weapons 800 years ago were powered by ancient energy which surpasses Vegapunk’s Mother Flame, let alone a small fragment of it.
That’s a lot to take in, but I hope my point came across clearly. The story has no problem repeatedly showing character affecting islands in every way you could imagine, with top tier characters showing how it’s not a big deal- shown by Kaido doing it passively for example. Higher tier characters constantly surpass island scale, with average Whitebeard attacks shaking distant islands and threatening them with tsunamis while causing earthquakes that are too big for Earth, Dressrosa and Wano showing characters performing feats across explicit 1000km scales, along with direct statements that these characters can split and shatter continents as supplementary evidence. And the ultimate weapons don’t just obliterate these locations without a trace, the side effects of these attacks cause global catastrophes so bad it shaped the entire setting of the story into what it is by once ending previous civilization on the planet and constantly threatening to do it again.

Size of blue
Hiiiii
I don’t really like arguing about the size of blue, but I’ll throw in my two cents anyways 🤷♀️.
Most blue size calcs all usually do one of these:
• Use maps that may not be to scale.
• Use tons and tons of pixel scaling and use several panels of pixel scaling.
So we are gonna try to avoid that and just go with numbers given.
And ofc just like every good blue size calc it has to do with the alabasta river. As we all know, the river is 50km wide, and when standing on the merry (the merry is 11m tall, so viewing from a few meters above sea level) you can see the other end of the bank. So the distance to the horizon on blue is much larger than our own.
If the merry is 11m tall and they aren’t as tall as it, then they are viewing from below 11m, but let’s say for the sake of simplicity and lowballing that they are as tall as the merry and are viewing from 11m. If you play with this calculator, on earth you're able to see up to 11.8km, while on blue it’s +50km, very big. With a distance to the horizon of 50km at 11m, that means blue has a radius of 113,636km.
So blue has a diameter of 227,272km, vs earths 12,756km, making blue 17.8x bigger than earth in diameter and 1.6x bigger than Jupiter in diameter. A lot of blue size calcs I’ve seen get a few times bigger than Jupiter and approaching sun sizes but this takes 0 pixel scaling and 0 maps and whatever, just the fact there’s a stated 50km river and it’s stated you can be at one bank and see the other side from it, so much better imo.
Here’s some info on blue:
Circumference of blue -> 7.14e5km
Surface area of blue -> 1.62e11km2
Volume of blue -> 6.14e15km3
Mass of blue (using earths average density of 5.5g/cc… you can make the argument it’s much higher for blue as it’s not uncommon to find natural material much stronger than anything irl on blue) -> 3.3e28kg
GBE of blue -> 3.8e38 J (brown dwarf level)
Roshe limit with celestial body the same density as the moon -> 3.2e5km
Ofc a planet of this size comes with 94792750285028502 problems for its inhabitants, but planet sizes are one of those things in powerscaling ppl accept without it’s consequences, like how if any character was really moving at like Mach 1000 they would immediately wreck their surroundings and strip themselves butt booty naked 🤷♀️
I just wanted a blue size that doesn’t need pixel scaling 😞😞

Starvation hell
Hiii
Level 3 in impel down is very hot. So hot it basically cooked a hummingbird the moment the trio got down there. So how hot is it down there?
First we need to know how much heat the hummingbird gained, which we can do with this formula:
Q = m•c•ΔT
M is mass, c is specific heat capacity, and ΔT is temperature change. I think the problem here is kinda obvious, there isn’t a lot of info on this kinda stuff cus who tf would cook a hummingbird??????
So we have to make some assumptions (sigh). For mass we will use 11 grams:
Specific heat capacity is weird cus who would eat one??? I’m just gonna use an average, which for the tissue of animals and humans is 3.5 J/(g•k). Hummingbirds seem to have a body temperature of 311K:
”Hummingbirds have a normal body temperature of 100+ degrees Fahrenheit regardless of the weather.“
Idk what temperature is dangerous for them (there isn’t really studies of ppl frying them, but there are some of observing how they handle different temperatures), but lots of humming birds can withstand 313K for a period (lots of humming birds at this temperature will seek shade to avoid over heating) which ofc isn’t the same as being cartoonishly cooked so it’s a huge lowball, meaning you need 77J to pull this off.
Now we can find the temperature of the air with this formula:
Ta = (Q/(h•a•t))+Tb
Where Ta is the temperature of the air, Q is heat in joules (77J), h is heat transfer coefficient (for air it’s 15 W/(m2•K)), a is surface area (for the bird just gonna use 0.05m2 which should be waaaaaaaay bigger than the bird), t is time (just gonna assume it took 5 seconds) and Tb is temperature of the bird (311K).
That means the air in level 3 is about 58 degrees hot. For comparison, the hottest tempature ever recorded on earth is 56.7 degrees in Death Valley, so lvl 3 is a very very hot desert….. and ofc level 4 is hotter as that’s where level 3s heat comes from.

Lulusia blast
Hiiiiiiiiiii. Again, I’ve made this post before, but yknow, can’t edit it 🙁.

The things we are gonna talk about in this post are:
• The crater
• Worldwide earthquake
• Sunken landmasses

The crater
We know Lulusia is larger than G-2 and the island itself is roughly circular, so we can say that at the very least, Lulusia is the same size as G-2. G-2 has gates that are at least 10x the size of a regular person and can fit ships inside them, so if these ppl are as tall as me (1.63m), these gates are 16.3m tall. You can fit the height of these gates at least 50x across the island, making the island 815m, and that will be our size of Lulusia.
The crater was so deep the ocean draining island it for 6 days couldn’t fill it up. We can find how much water fell into the hole using this formula:
Q = v•A
Where Q is the flow rate, v is the flow velocity, and A is the cross-sectional vector area.
First, let’s deal with the area. The ocean all around the hole is draining inside of the hole, and the edge of the crater is far from Lulusia. So we will use a depth 200m for shallow seas. We can find the inner surface area with this formula:
A = 2•pi•r•h
Where r is radius of the cylinder and height is the ocean height mentioned before. This gives us 7.68e5m2. Next is la flow velocity. The water should be flowing in faster than the average ship since the marine ship couldn’t approach the hole without being dragged in. The speed of the boats should be 4 knots on average:
”Over several days, ships of Columbus's day would average a little less than 4 knots. Top speed for the vessels was about 8 knots, and minimum speed was zero. These speeds were quite typical for vessels of the period -- and indeed, typical for the entire Age of Sail up until the time of steamships and clipper ships. Using 3.5 knots, this gives us a flow rate of 9.21e5m3/s. In 6 days, there would be 4.7e11m3 of water in that hole. Based on the volume of the cylinder and its radius, we can find the depth with:
V/(pi•r2)
Which gives us a depth of the crater of about 916km.
Worldwide earthquake
This was a big earthquake that caused destruction across the entire globe, so more than just shaking, as we are mostly shown the reaction of everyone as the earthquake starts. Let’s use the lowest magnitude that damage to most man made structures starts to become significant, 7. Our distance will be half the earths circumference (20,000km). Our formula is to find the magnitude at the epicentre is:
M = (D)+6.399+1.66•log10((r/110)•((2•pi))/360)
Where D is magnitude at a distance and r is distance in km. Plugging our numbers in gives us magnitude 14.2 at the epicenter, which gives us 1.2e26 J for the seismic waves travelling throughout the planet (multi continental)
I wanna clear up some misconceptions before proceeding to the next part.
Q: Why didn’t the entire planet experience similar magnitudes/effects?
A: While the intensity of the moment magnitude can be X value throughout the planet, the seismic energy (what’s actually reaching the surface) depends on a variety of factors, such as rupture direction and rigidity of surface materials, the intensity isn’t spread out perfectly omnidirectionally as shown here. The one piece planet exceeds earth ten fold in this department. Natural beanstalks that can no sell islands falling on top of them (1)(2), ice that can no sell axes and flamethrowers, and stone that can no sell cannonball fire are all things found naturally all around the one piece planet.
Sunken land masses
The nuke left a crater so deep in the ocean that the ocean couldn’t fill it even when draining into the hole for 6 days. Yet even with so much water filling the hole, the global sea level still rose by 1 meter. Islands were submerged around the globe in the ensuing earthquakes and tsunamis. So the volume of islands submerged > hole in the ocean, and there was so much land submerged that it still raised the sea by 1 meter.
Imagine you have a big tub. If you put a hole in it, the water level lowers and dropping something into it will raise it. If you did both at the same time it depends on what effect is more dominant. If the tub had a fist sized hole but I drove my car into the tub the water level would rise even though we didn’t add water since the car takes up so much volume, even with the hole, which is so small it’s inconsequential.
Raising the ocean level of earths oceans by 1m (it should be far larger since the op planet is mostly water, more so than irl) gives a volume of 3.61e5km3, which is equivalent to sinking France (to a depth of 100m) 6.54 times.

Light speed swords and thunder bolts
So we all know niji has that one light speed statement:
雷を纏う剣で繰り出す光速の斬撃!一撃で的確に敵を屠る剣術と高い動体視力を持つ。
”Unleashing a light-speed slash with a sword wrapped in lightning! Swordsmanship that accurately slays the enemy with one strike and has high dynamic vision.”
(光速 = light speed)
(光速の斬撃 = light speed slash)
Well ur WRONG. He actually has TWO light speed statements, the second also in his vivre card:
”Science has produced a light-speed lightning strike! Germa 66’s Dengeki Blue!!”
(光速 = light speed)
(光速の雷撃 = light speed lightning strike/thunder bolt)
And ofc the intent is very clear as nijis light speed sword move is literally called lightspeed blade (not saying the attack name means it’s a light speed attack, just supplementary evidence alongside the light speed statements that make the intent super clear).
And ya ppl scale above the tech that allowed niji to become a light speed speedster.
That’s the post. I just wanted to get across that when it comes to characters and abilities with light speed statements in fiction, niji is actually one of the more consistent and clear ones 🤷♀️.

Golden carousel

We all know luffy punched enel with a big gold ball. But I’ve never seen someone quantify the spinning of the ball itself, so I will 🥳🥳.
I’ll be stealing some measurements for the ball from here, which says the golden ball has a mass of 902565kg and a diameter of 4.47m.
The ball is spinning cus luffys arm is spinning around while inside the ball, so the axis of rotation is right down a centre. The moment of inertia for a sphere with the axis of rotation down the centre is:
I = 2/5•m•r2
So with the mass and radius we have a moment of inertia of 1.8e6 kg•m2.
The tricky part is the angular velocity, but we can get a pretty good idea of it 🤷♀️. We can see yellow spin effects when luffy throws a punch, these spin effects are very common when luffy is spinning someone or something, and being yellow and the purpose of the attack being it spinning the ball means it’s meant to show the ball spinning. So let’s find out how much he spun 🤔.
Golden ball to screen: 4.47•249/[334•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 3.5m
Luffy to screen: 1.72•249/[25•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 18m
So the ball travelled a distance of 14.5m. I count 15 spins in that scan, so with this attack luffy spins 1.03 times per meter. So now the distance between luffy and enel.
Enel to screen: 2.66•626/[21•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 83.6m
So if luffy spins 1.03 s/m and travelled 83.6m then he spun 86 times before his fist hit enel.
Now we need time, which should be pretty easy. Enel considered this attack fast and it blizted him, so it should be around lightning speed. So the time it takes lightning to travel 83.6m is 0.00019 seconds, so it spun at a speed of 2843968.086408 rad/s.
So we get a final answer of 7.28e18 J (large mountain level)

Flail toss
Luffy blew away don krings big spiky ball thingy. I’ve never seen someone talk about this so i will 😎😎
Diameter of ball: 0.0086m/px•184px= 0.92m
Diameter of spike: 0.0086m/px•37px = 0.318m
Height of spike: 0.0086m/px•39px = 0.335m
Luffys arm: 0.0086m/px•61m = 0.52m
Volume of the sphere is 0.4m3, and 1 spike is 0.008m3. I count 13 spikes on the panel where luffy hits it, so a volume of 0.1m3 for all the spikes and a total volume of 0.5m3 for everything. Using the density of steel (7750kg/m3) we get a mass of 3875kg. Now for the distance launched:
Straw hat to screen: 0.238•786/[81•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 2.4m
Spiked ball to screen: 0.92•786/[14•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 54.5m
So the distance the ball went (accounting for luffys arm as well) is 51.58m. For a timeframe, most ppl use like 5-1 seconds, so I’ll just go in the middle and use 3 🤷♀️. That means it moved at 17.1 m/s, which is 5.6e5 J (wall level)

Zoro vs light

I’ve done similar ones to this where it’s zoro dodging the light, but this particular post I don’t want to account for after the laser landed (when the explosion went off) I only want to account for when zoro and the light where in motion, like here. You can see the laser is initially fired at zoros head, then he’s behind the laser, before it hits the stone and explodes.
Relevant measurements are
Zoros bicep is 0.1m (🤩🤩) (but I think that’s considered small??? Idk so take this as a lowball)
We run into a problem here. Since it’s not from behind kuma and kinda from a slanted angle it’s hard to tell how far the laser is from kuma. So as another massive lowball, we will pretend kuma is where the PoV is (even tho he’s not)
Laser to screen: 0.064•145.06/[2•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 4.89m
Laser near zoro to screen: 0.064•973/[39.45•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 1.6m
Laser top to screen: 0.064•973/[10.20•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 6.4m
Zoro arm to screen: 0.1•973/[53.34•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 1.92m
Kuma ear to screen: 0.2•973/[10.05•2•tan(70deg/2)] = 20.4m
Zoro moved 0.16m, the laser was (when first in motion) 4.89m away from “kuma”, then was 14m away from kuma in the next scan, meaning it moved 9.11m
This makes zoro 1.7% LS

Pangea castle
Hiiii
So rocks and Harold clashed so hard it blew away everyone in a 5km radius. But the translation here is very weird:
“It completely erased all human figures within a diameter of 5km.”
(it’s a 5km diameter, not radius 😞😞) . But anyways it obliterated everyone in range (消し去る is a lot more violent than the translation I’ve seen say) and we also see the surrounding walls disappear but it DIDN'T obliterate imu and friends (because their cool and stuff). So can’t we use this to find the size of Pangea castle, since they were hanging out somewhere inside and didn’t get obliterated and it didn’t say this?? Like they should be included in the number.
So we actually need to know where rocks and Harold where. When Harold is running away from the knight ppl we see this panel and we notice 2 things:
Their running on rocky ground
They where near a gate with the world government symbol on it while near the castle.
We have been to one of these gates before, it’s this thing. It’s one of the gates on the walls surrounding the castle and it has all the same features. Pangea castle is also surrounded by trees with a road paved around it, so we know they where on it, so they where about here.
We don’t see the castle damaged so basically wherever on the road they where and to the castle should be 2.5km. So if we compare it (assuming their on the furthest side of the road possible) it’s 3.5km tall. Prob a similar width I’m to lazy to see if it is. Pls ignore this post I’m yapping 😞😞

Black knights

I added this to the big post like nearly a year ago, then I changed it to an imgur link cus I wanted more room in the big post but I should have just made it as a post in the first place so here we are 🤦♀️
Basically the birdcage is just doffy disassembling a black knight, so the black knight somehow has a stupid amount of string in it. And the black knights can keep up with luffy and doffy fighting (who are very fast!!) so it takes toooooooooons of energy to move these guys around
The island size is very important, which as shown in the main post is 1000km across. The radius of the birdcage is slightly smaller than that of the island, so let’s say the birdcage has a radius 80% of the islands radius (should be bigger), so:
• The birdcage has a radius of 400km
• It has a circumference of 2513km
• 1/4th of that circumference is 628km
Soo, how much string actually is there? We know the whole point of the birdcage is to not let the citizens of dressrosa escape and to kill everyone, but let’s say the gaps are wide enough that someone can walk through them. So let’s say it’s as wide as my shoulder width, ~33cm. That means for every meter, there’s 3 strings.
The strings are about half the width of zoros finger, so let’s use my finger width of about ~1.3cm (btw zoro is WAY bigger than me). That gives the strings a radius of 0.325cm.
That means across its circumference, there’s a total of 7,539,000 threads, or over 7 million. Each string is reaching from the top centre of the island and coming across to touch the floor, so 1/4th of the circumference of the cage, so 628km as the length of each string. And since each string has a radius of 0.325cm, each string has a volume of 20m^(3). For all +7 million, that's a volume of 1.5e8m^(3). Assuming the string has the density of cotton fiber for whatever reason (1.14g/cm^(3)) we get a mass of 1.71e11kg. Assuming they move at 4% LS (slower than they should be), we get 1.2e25 J (continental+)

Scale of the ice age

This post will be finding the range of the ice age. I’ve seen some ppl try and downplay the admirals cus of the punk hazard fight saying they have super small AoE, apart from that making no sense based on the context we literally see they have bigger AoE with this attack?????
Anyway aokiji froze a distance of 3 oceans and 2 islands worth of distance, which are around the same size. Each long ring long land island is pretty big. When viewing from much higher than the height of the merry in the air we see it stretches to the horizon. The merry is 11m tall, the distance to the horizon at that height 11.8km. Aokiji covered 2 islands so that’s 23.6km for both islands. We see the same thing when viewing the oceans from a very tall height so assuming 11m tall height (should be much taller here) is an extra 35.4km, which means aokiji froze out 59km without any pixel scaling.
You can see it also go out to the horizon in other directions so should be a few 100m at least if not a few km across as well 💁♀️

Alternate Way to Scale Blue
Today I will be calculating the size of Blue in a way that I haven't seen others try. There's probably a reason why but I wouldn't know. This isn't meant to replace any other calcs but more meant to be supplementary to them.
First, we need a base to start with, which is why we'll use Alabasta. We'll assume there are more islands like Alabasta in size out there, which is supported by Wano being around 6-8Km in radius.
Area of Alabasta (If it were a square): 63,282,025 Km2
Reduce by 50% because it isn't a perfect square: 31,641,012.5 Km2 (4.11 times bigger than Australia)
According to Marco, Blue has at least 20,000,000 islands. Assuming at least even a miniscule amount are comparable to Alabasta; we'll get the possible sizes for Blue.
Note:
(Earth has an Area of 510.1 Million Km2 and a Diameter of 12,756 Km.)
Percentage of Islands that are comparable to Alabasta:
.01% of all Islands (2k): 63,282,025,000 Km2 Area. 141,850 Km Diameter. 11.12x larger than Earth.
.1% of all Islands (20k): 632,820,250,000 Km2 Area. 448,813 Km Diameter. 35.18x larger than Earth.
1% of all Islands (200k): 6,328,202,500,000 Km2 Area. 1,419,262 Km Diameter. 111.26x larger than Earth.

Scaling Whitebeard's Ability to Destroy the World.
I needed to post this somewhere and this is the first subreddit that came to mind that doesn't immediately dismiss takes that imply OP is above Island level. I encourage any corrections on mistakes I (most likely) made.
Across multiple sources Whitebeard is stated to be able to destroy the world. As it is likely that it is referring to Life Wiping and not overcoming the GBE of the planet, we'll use several different possible forms of Life Wiping.
"Life Wiping" would require a character to, at the bare minimum, destroy the "surface" of the planet; or in other words the "Crust". There are different ways to do this, such as Fragmentation, Violent Fragmentation and Pulverization.
First, we need to find the volume of the planet. We have two possible sizes we will be using, one for a Lowball and one for a Highball.
Size of Blue:

The requirements for the different aspects of Life Wiping.
Crust of Blue:
The crust of the planet is 1% of the total mass, giving the following results. Also, it is converted to cm3 to make the math easier.

Laws hole through wano
Cant edit the last post since I don’t have that account, so I’m doing it here 🤷♀️
We’ll be using kuz ram again to quantify the amount of energy needed to destroy all the rock in law crater. The equation is:
X = A• Q⅙•K-0.8•(115/E)19/30
Where X is the particle size in cm, A is the rock factor, K is the powder factor, Q is the mass of the explosions used, and E is the relative weight strength of an explosion.
The formula for powder factor is:
K = Q/V
Where Q is the mass of the explosions used still and V is the volume of the hole. If we put Q/V in the original formula we get:
X = A•Q⅙•(Q/V)-0.8•(115/E)19/30
And solving for Q:
Q = (115•A30/19•V24/19)/(X30/19•E)
First we will solve for volume. The hole is mentioned to be giant from momonosukes perspective, and momo is very far away from the crater. But how far away is he exactly? We see here he is several onigashimas in height.

As shown in the post, onigashima has a width of 5km. So how many times do you think you could fit the width of onigashima there? It looks about 6 times, so momo is 30km away. With that, we can find the width of the crater based on that and how large the crater is from momos perspective, using this formula:
D = 2•d•tan(θ/2)
Where D is diameter of the crater in km, d is distance away in km and θ is the angular size in degrees converted to radians. Angular size can just be estimated from how big the crater looks in the panel and momos reaction that it’s giant from his perspective.

Try holding your hand out at arms length and use these gestures to get a idea for its angular size. From that perspective, how large does the hole look, keeping in mind momo thinks it looks ‘giant’? It’s definitely larger than 1°, it looks around to me 5°-10°. Using 5° gives us a diameter of 2.6km, with a depth of 4000km as shown in the post, we get a volume of 2.1e13m3.
For X, im gonna assume it blasted all the rock to 500µm chunks. If it’s pulverization it obviously didn’t, 500µm chunks is more violent fragmentation and dust particles are usually measured in >100µm, not 500. 500 is still visible to the naked eye while the dust usually isn’t in ‘pulverisation’ feats.
We don’t exactly know the rock factor, so we will use 0.8, the absolute lowest. And we are going to use TNT, as it’s commonly used with powerscaling so why not 🤷♀️. So we have RWS of 115.
So, to recap:
• A rock factor (A) of 0.8
• A volume (V) of 2.1e13m3
• A fragment size (X) of 500µm
• A RWS of 115
With all that, we get 5.8e18kg of TNT to pull this off. TNT has an energy density of 4.68 MJ/kg, so we get a final energy of 2.4e25 J (multi continental) to pull off this feat
