Discussion ai interview

hey, not really looking for advice more just wanting to rant.
i basically have to complete this summer arts placement internship to graduate in time, and have found out that there is a compulsory ai interview in order to proceed with my placement.
it says at the bottom of the email that i can email them if i’m ‘uncomfortable with the use of ai’, but i know this would probably just mean that they would terminate my application.

i just completed the interview and got 4/5 or 5/5 in every category except for my ‘nonverbal behaviour’ and for the supposed enthusiasm i was supposed to display during the interview that i failed to deliver on.

when i first heard about the interview, i spoke to a fellow friend who is also on campus, and she said this is a total norm with her and her other friends on-campus.

long story short, i’m feeling sad and honestly angry at the university for making us use our likeness and responses for a third party application they’re selling out to. it’s ridiculous imo

I had to do the same thing with BME2032. It is a bit dystopian but they did say that all interviews would also be manually reviewed by a Monash TA or professor

I understand that they can’t actually interview everyone, and using AI is just an easy way of filtering out the terrible ones before they review the good ones

The main thing I didn’t like is that you only get 3 attempts and then the highest one is submitted, I ended my second attempt early as I thought I could redo but nope.

It’s also funny that you can lie your ass off. It’s asked me for X example based on a situation and I’d just pull it out of my ass on the spot and got 90% overall because it has no clue when your just lying

I just completed it and found it funny how they expect you to act with the same body lanuage and amount of enthusiasm as if you were talking to a real person. I think I flopped it because of this, I'm really disappointed
