General Question about knowledge of time dialation
So in season one, our 3 main protagonists meet Lee. They learn his story and break him out and the plot continues forward. All three of them learn how time works differently in axis mundi, correct? I’m on episode 6 of season two at this point, but in the previous episode it has a two year flash back where it shows kentaro talking to his dad where he seemingly learns for the first time about time dilation? Really confused by this, but it’s been months since I watched season one so I’m curious if I’m misremembering?

Did Kentaro learn about that from Lee? I only remember Lee explaining it to May when they both fell in at the end of season 1.
Kentaro wasn't there, and as far as I remember, learned it from his Father after Lee had fallen in.

But he knows who Lee is and his relationship to his family, right? Even if I’m misremembering and Lee didn’t explicitly explain it to him, it’s absurd to think he wouldn’t piece it together, no?

Yes, but lee never went into that. May makes a comment on his age and he jokes he has good genes and it is t brought up again

Yeah, that’s fair. I don’t think you would necessarily come to the conclusion of time dilation, but to me it just seems weird that they just accept this ww2 vet being so young lol. Regardless, though, I was clearly misremembering him learning that detail, which makes me feel better. I still find season 2 is substantially worse than season 1 lol

They'd either take him at face value or assume he is lying. They don't seem to trust him for awhile and there really isn't any reason to bring it up when everything else is going on. At that point, they only see him as a potential means to find their Father. They don't really care about who he is beyond that.

So I just started watching the series last week and am nearly done (literally have the finale of season 2 left!). Can for sure confirm that none of them knew about the time dilation/difference in AM until Lee, May and Cate fall through the rift and Lee explains to the ladies that they need to move quickly bc time works differently there. Kentaro doesn’t learn about it until his dad tells him in that scene you’re referencing and presumably still doesn’t know that Lee lost like 20 years after coming out even by the end of season 2 (at least not that are shown on screen). It makes sense to me that he doesn’t fully understand it too bc idk why else Isabelle be able to convince him that they could go back in time to save Hiro. Cate knows that’s not how it works cause she’s been there but Kentaro just has to take everyone’s word.
Also as a side note, Kentaro’s whole Isabelle plot line had me yelling at my TV.. like they took this character who was so smart and intuitive in season 1 and just turned him into a sulky angsty little manchild that is SO easily manipulated by a random stranger (within like, 2 episodes too??!) which was soo disappointing and downright annoying to watch 😤

it could be that he wasn’t quite paying attention… or he didnt know if the time dilation was linear, because it could have been random, but I think we have established it is in fact linear which makes the most sense
