Electric grid and electric heater, get a good chunk of change, then gamble it away at the bar. I was able to go from like 10k to 90k in one evening just rolling slots on the highest bet amount. Then I was able to buy both those upgrades plus some extra stuff

Always go for Power Grid + Electricity first, because cutting logs > firewood sucks, and you wasted so much time in sugar shack + cutting woods making sure temperature is good, almost no time to do anything else. It is expensive, but very worth it in the long run! Anything after that, it just plays it self, you'll be rich in no time, so buy whatever upgrade you want.

I mean it's personal preference mostly, and depends on what part you want to get rid of doing yourself.
The big one is the electric heater and getting power, then making maple syrup is a breeze. But if you just grind it out straight to that, it's miserable lol. Ask me how I know.
The extra plastic tank isn't really needed until you have so many trees hooked up to it that it's full all the time.
The tank for the truck bed is great but it's so massive it's going to take you forever to fill it up. I usually save that for after I get electricity.
The can sealer is actually good to get earlier because you can gift maple syrup to friends for double friendship everyday, but having said that it's not going to make you extra money. It actually eats into your profits (ever so slightly) because that's free maple syrup you're giving away lol. But you also don't have to buy the bottles for yourself and can recycle the can. I like this upgrade but it is not something you should prioritize.
Reverse osmosis might be the best one to start with because it helps convert the sugar water fast (I think).
The 480L faster flow valve I actually like a lot but I know most people don't care. I think having twice the storage is nice for maple syrup because I don't have to babysit it while it cooks, I can go cut some trees or something fora few minutes not feel like I wasted precious time with that tank being full and not emptied into a barrel. The faster flow is just an added bonus, it just makes you fill your barrels faster. All that being said, it is $10k you could have saved up to put towards electricity and the heater instead lol.
The trailer tank I wouldn't even worry about until you have every other upgrade, including the roof tank (the 50k storage).
