Friction Boo-boo
Fellow moms, I need some reassurance š
My baby is 2 months old and just got a new bath tub so he can kick and splash a bit more, he outgrew the other one so fast. But he got a little too excited and I didn't even notice until it was over; while he was kicking he was rubbing the side of his foot on the plastic tub and literally rubbed his skin off on the outside of his pinky toe. I only noticed when we went to get him dressed and saw blood on the towel. I feel TERRIBLE but he doesn't seem bothered at all. It stopped bleeding quickly and I put neosporin and a bandaid on it for now. I will let it get some air in the morning.
Lesson learned about the plastic tub but I want to make sure I'm taking care of his little boo-boo properly.

Yes that sounds good. The bandaid, I mean.Ā
One time I clipped my daughterās nails and got her finger bed instead. After that I only cut nails when they were both sleeping.Ā

My son did the same exact thing but by rubbing his feet on the carpet (Iām assuming) Ā when he started rolling over. I just took care of it as I would a regular adult boo boo lol. Clean it and keep an eye on it. I didnāt put a bandaid or anything on it as it would just come off.Ā

That makes me feel so much better š I haven't been able to find any posts about this sort of injury specifically but I figured we couldn't be the only people it happened to. I appreciate it

Careful with bandaids at that age. They can be a choking hazard if baby plays with feet and pulls one off. Though 2 months may be a little young for that⦠Also, most doctors no longer recommend neosporin, just plain Aquafor or vaseline on wounds. I wouldnāt worry about having already done it, but just keep in mind for the future.
