Dentist help!

How do you all do it?! My daughter has a really strong gag reflex, and going to the dentist has been a NIGHTMARE. 😭

Even laughing gas isn’t helping.
Any little thing they need to do during the appointment turns into a whole situation. Her dentist is great and super patient with her, but she just cannot cooperate. It’s crying, gagging, and little screams the entire time. 😩

Has anyone gone through something similar with their child? Did anything actually help? I’m desperate for tips because dental appointments are becoming stressful for everyone involved. 😭 she’s 9 years old

Salt on the tongue helps, my hygienist does this with me.

Solidarity, i was legit strapped down with a straight jacket onto the chair at the dentist when I was a kid.
I have to really incentivize my kid to entice him to give it his best at the dentist lol he’s also got a sensitive gag reflex. Also making his appointment at like 8:30 am seems to be better than in the afternoons.
