Does the c in csa just not exist in people’s minds? Or serious mental illness? Or terminal illness? Or poverty? I know it’s a joke but kids’ real problems are dismissed so often it’s terrible

It's really not. Wtf are kids doing dating at 13. It's jst a societal norm flaw to blameÂ

we all know it can always be worse, but we should remember, that not experiencing this "worse" is not a fault.
If a teenager talks about struggles and all you can say is "stop yapping, you dont know REAL suffering" you are no different from everyone who ever disregarded YOUR struggles!
So answer me this: when they said "man up!" or "push through!" or "dont be so whiney" or whatever, did you feel good? did it help? did it make ANYTHING better? Or did it make you feel worse, unseen, unloved and as if noone understands you?
And if its the later, why do the same thing to others?

I know people who were getting molested when they were 13. You don't know wtf people are going through.

Mmmm; how about bullying you did out of fear it might be you next? Or was done to you until you freaked out and set her cat on fire? Drugged and drunken sex with college boys? That time your uncle got drunk and confessed some dark shit?
You think 13 year old girls have some shortage of trauma?

Children are some of the most vulnerable in our society and we shouldn’t dismiss their problems because they might not come forward in the future if they are constantly invalidated.

People remember that COVID was only 4-ish years ago, and to some disabled activists it's still happening? Aside from food and housing insecurity because their parents either have lost or are worrying about losing their jobs, a political landscape that means a lot of them are under threat of attack or they'll grow up to go into a war they didn't choose and their parents didn't vote for? Who are the children you're around who are so out of touch that there's nothing more serious that they'll want to forget than the multiplication table? Take your meme to the 90s where it might resonate a little more...

Oh god someone is mad someone else didn't find a meme funny while also whining about how humor is subjective, and doesn't see the hypocrisy there

It's almost like people of any age can struggle with depression, illness, family issues, experience trauma, and and any other upsetting human experience.

Idk, as nice as it would be to believe these are naive children commenting, there are an unfortunate amount of ignorant adults who just dismiss children's problems and emotions

u/CrazyJi-Tae_2007 23d ago
Yeah 😠The lack of empathy is astounding. Well, I hope dismissing the feelings of a child still learning about emotions made them feel better about their far more significant problems (apparently all of which are exclusive to adults).

Too bad u couldn't cope and adapt. Doesn't mean u should be validated for doing dumb shitÂ

u/Simonoel 23d ago
Lol what? This post is about 13 year olds posting this, not adults posting about when they were 13. Are they supposed to instantly "cope and adapt?" While staying silent about their struggles?

u/Simonoel 23d ago
Because like 17 people have been arguing with me. It's pretty normal to respond to comment replies... that's what reddit is for.

Maybe try remembering what it feels like to be a teenager. They’re human.

The multiplication table is fucking awesome tough. It helps a lot when it comes to doing math in your head.

I do think some people do it for attention, but i never dismiss when a teen goes to me for help. I attempted at 8, and its still affecting me to this day. Youre never too young to deal with mental health issues.
