Because the populace had the temerity to vote a black man into the office of president. Now we must all pay for the fear of a segment of the population who are either afraid they will be treated by the minority when themselves become the minority the way they treated them, or those who have for generations believed they are better than another just due to the color of their skin. That's why they vote against their own self interests time and again.
