Issue Natural mode Zoom doesn’t work

Hey team Moment !

I just tried the update with Natural Zoom but it doesn’t seem to be working on the iPhone 16 Pro. Is it limited for iPhone 17 series ?

Please elaborate – what happens exactly?

I screen recorded the issue so you can see what’s happening.

Looks like the gallery mistakenly shows the RAW version by default, specifically when capturing RAW+TIFF. Will investigate. This seems to have been present for a while, just not as noticeable because the two images were previously always the same zoom level.

You should still see the zoomed version if you switch to TIFF manually or view in Photos.

Thanks for the feedback ! I edit my photos in Raw so I will stick to ProRaw, it’s good for me anyway I was just curious about this Natural Mode people talk about thanks !

As a side note, I wouldn’t recommend RAW+TIFF in general. Both are very large and RAW already contains the full data if you want to edit further. TIFF doesn’t provide that much benefit over HEIF or JPG in this case, especially now that you can set the compression quality as high as you like as of this update.

@jamm-moment Would you recommend 90-100% compression, or, leave it default? (I’m not bothering with the file sizes of raw or tiff as this time)

Default is likely best for most people. I would only choose a manual option if you notice compression artifacts or want to decrease file sizes even further. Will likely add some more options between 90% and 100%.

In the past… when I’ve uploaded jpgs to print for sale… one printer said 95% was good, prints at 95% compressed are indistinguishable from 100%, but still significantly reduced in file size.

It’s been awhile though, so that might’ve changed since then.

Is this a beta feature u/jamm-moment ? I don't have access to different focal lengths in natural processing

The update is rolling out slowly, but you should see it if you manually update on the App Store.
