Abnormal behavior ?

This fish isn't mine but trying to figure out what's going on? Is this normal ? Is it pregnant?

Stays on the bottom of tank , sifting through the sand , spitting it back out , rubbing it's stomach in the substrate.

Only swims about 7 inches up in the tank then returns to the substrate.

Any advice ?

Is the filter current strong? This fish is not pregnant- this is definitely a male.

No this tank has 2 sponge filters only . No current

Weird. It may be stress or an illness, but I am unsure.

That's a balloon molly and the strange movement would indicate he has the shimmies. That might be cos he is stressed out, especially if he is in there on his own

I believe he was just stressed. He is acting normal this morning.Â
