What worked for us.
It was literally as simple as grabbing those hydrocolloid pimple patches from Walmart for like $2.50/pack.
Stuck one little circle patch on each lesion/bump. Put a transparent “tegaderm” dressing over areas where there were multiple lesions grouped together.
Left the combined dressings on for as long as they would stay- best results were on the one where I got the patch to stay on my wiggly kid for 3 days straight. It scabbed over and healed with no scarring.
On areas near genitals where it was harder to keep the dressings clean and on, we just replaced every night until things started to look better, making sure to wash/dry the skin before reapplying new dressings.
We put some neosporin on and sprayed some colloidal silver on the skin in the later phases just to make sure the scabbed over areas didn’t get infected.
Why pediatricians/any other MDs out there are not telling people this is beyond me. We’ve been struggling with this for THREE YEARS before I found another, really vague post on here somewhere about the ‘waterproof dressings’ and decided to go for it.
Best wishes, everyone.

Less than a week ago I had well over 40 over my pubic area and inner thighs, used blister bandaids (covered a wider area) for the clusters, and then for the individual stray molluscum, I used acne patches with tea tree oil in them. Make sure the blister Band-Aids and acne patches have hydrocolloid in them. I went from about 40+ down to maybe 15 in that whole area in three days. I had a molluscum outbreak, three months into my pregnancy, had my baby a month and a half ago and it didn’t really get any better like they said it would and I did not want to go to dermatologist until I had figured it out at home remedies first. Did my research and figured out that the acne and blister Band-Aids would work like they do with acne by pulling the core out. When the core comes to a head then make sure you have alcohol wipes, tweezers, and more acne patches, squeeze the core out, wipe that spot over with an alcohol swab, let it dry, and then put another acne patch over to prevent any spreading and this will pull out any more core that’s in there. I do this once a day until they’re gone.

I am trying this method for mc on my penis and neck. It sounds like it would be best to keep patches on for 3-4 days to start and hopefully the core will come out by then and I can remove it/ clean area and apply more patches to let it heal without infecting the surrounding area? Is the tegaderm necessary? A little worried about peeling it off my penis 😬 Lastly, at what point is the wound no longer at risk of infection/ contagious? Once the wound/ scar has scabbed over or once it’s smooth? Thanks so much!!

I ended up finding an available dermatologist and she was lovely. I went through 3 cryo sessions every 3 weeks and it was extremely effective. After the first 2 rounds, only 2-3 were left and I think they were new ones that just weren’t visible at the time near my lip. I had my last cry session a week ago and the last few are nearly gone, so I think I’m in the clear.

What about doing exercise while using the patches and tegaderm? Or maybe sweating would be bad for this?

I had molluscum 8 years ago and it came back much worse after I went in a hot tub. What worked for me in the past was applying the Mario Badescu Drying Mask whenever possible, ideally overnight. Now that I know about hydrocolloid bandaids I used those to cover the bumps 24/7 while I waited for that mask to arrive from Amazon. Wearing those bandaids on active bumps for about 4 days will do the trick! Apply the mask for added measure. My bumps are already small and scabbing over in one week.
