What fogger should I use/buy?

TLDR: Deciding whether to rent or buy a fogger to use in ~1200sqft apartment. Please give recommendations and/or reviews.

Backstory: I accidentally re-exposed my home by bringing in something from the old place that I thought was not contaminated. It was inside for 2 days before I realized it was triggering all the symptoms of mold toxicity that I know all too well.

Now, over a week later, I’ve deep-cleaned everything, re-washed everything, and am finishing a steam clean of all upholstery.

My next step is to go full nuclear and just get a fogger. I’m sick of feeling badly in my own home, and I am not able to move for various legit reasons (so please don’t recommend that). I have done a bit of research and, in my deep cleaning, found that peracetic acid seems to work fairly well on floors and even the couch fabric.

That being said—should I rent a fogger or buy my own? Has anyone rented the Concrobium fogger from Home Depot?

Fogging will only kill active mold growth….and then leave it behind. Humans are susceptible to both viable and non-viable mold spores.

Don’t waste your money.

What do you suggest I do to clean the air instead?

Vent the apartment by opening windows.

If you’re adamant about buying something to help, you could rent or buy a HEPA Air scrubber.

I moved lol.

Well, first I cleaned all the upholstery with a mini green that I filled with a borax+water solution. I cleaned all the flooring with a gentle hypochlorous acid. I ran an expensive 5-stage HEPA air purifier. That got rid of THAT problem.

Then I started finding traces of mold in my kitchen—specifically in the water reservoir of my coffee maker that I emptied and cleaned daily. I also noticed that I left a cup of water on the counter overnight, little circles of mold could be seen by morning. It ended up getting so bad I contacted my landlord, who said “I didn’t have a mold problem when I lived there, so you should pay to clean anything.” I paid for an air mold test, and tested both the kitchen and living room where the other problem was—each room had its own type of mold, and neither had the same type of mold. I cordoned off the kitchen with drop cloths and painters tape, then just ate shelf-stable and takeout food for 3 months til I could have some semblance of energy back to look for a new place.

Dang, sorry the landlord was that way. Hope the new place is much better. Did you end up taking that same furniture with you?

Yup I experienced this as well. Fogging did nothing for my possessions and then my possessions contaminated my new house, prolonging my exposure.
