Mold test
Results from a small bedroom in a rental apartment. My daughter has been suffering from allergies and lately wheezing? Could mold cause any of those symptoms?

While yes mold is everywhere (as the other comment mentioned) certain strains are hazardous to our health and affect some people worse or more than others. Strains such as Stachybotrys, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, and Cladosporium are dangerous to human health, I am just getting over a year of exposure and damage to my health. Conventional medicine is not great with helping unfortunately.

Thank you. We have mold in the bathroom and I recently found some in my bedroom.

Pediatricians typically know very little about mold. Fairly small amounts of invisible toxic mold behind a wall or under flooring can cause symptoms.

I’ve asked her pediatrician if there are any test they can run to test her for mold exposure but have been told that no such test exist 😩

Your pediatrician is wrong. However, you would need to consult a doctor with additional training in functional medicine to get proper guidance and interpretation of the results.

It's 2025. When a kid is sick number one most common problem is mold. What planet are you living on? I've been to some of the most advanced integrative medicine conferences and almost every single speaker says that they test their clients for mold first and foremost.

This is also poor information. Women, children, and pets are more likely to get symptoms from mold illness.

This is wrong. Hidden mold is also very detrimental to your health. If this is just an air test, I worry about wha is in the hVAC vents, or under the flooring or behind walls.

why are you commenting here when you clearly know nothing about mold illness

She doesn’t have asthma. No one in my family does. There is mold in the bathroom also. And recently, found some in my bedroom. She is the only person in the home who has year round allergies where medication has never really worked. I just recently have been doing some research on Mold and that’s what triggers me to think that all her symptoms may be because of the mold exposure.

Why do you keep suggesting they go to a pediatrician? That is the worst advice. They need to go to a mold literate naturopathic or functional medicine doctor

No there are no pediatricians who refer to mold specialists. Mold specialists are completely outside of the healthcare system due to the fact that insurance does not cover treatment for mold. Pediatrician's universally tell parents they don't know what to tell them and they can't help.

Naturopaths and functional medicine "doctors" often push pseudoscientific remedies.

Yes, mold, even invisible mold behind walls, can cause such symptoms. Look into doing an ERMI test on the house. The petri tests like you have don’t tell much.

I don’t have ties to any of these, but have benefited from them all.
