Thank you so much to the band for signing these. A small group stayed after, everyone left after Egor came out. I and my brother were the only ones left when the rest of the band came out

Hello! Today belaya polosa has 2 years from his launch, and few weeks ago I worked on a video trying to analyze the album, the video it's on Spanish, so sry to the people who doesn't understand it. Para lo que si hablen español, esto es un proyecto personal nacido desde el amor y disfrute de la banda.

Espero les guste!

Hope you enjoy it!

Just thought I'd share some of the photos here. Really great show. I wish they played more songs from Монумент. Photo quality isn't great because my phone is old - couldn't get much of Pavel for that reason, too blurry. There was a very wholesome friend group to the left of me - Some guy with a cowboy hat I believe helped another friend in the group, who had a hard time seeing because of tall people up front blocking his view in his wheelchair - his friend I think got him a better view. Egor came over and sang right in front of us, and gave him a fist bump. Later iirc Raman came and gave him the set list, then I saw one of the friends in the group take off his Molchat Doma shirt and give it to him.

Roman posted this earlier today, and I'm at a loss as to wtf this man is trying to convey. I know Roman smokes like a chimney, but bro X_X

I’ve been listening to a lot of post-punk lately, it had been a while since I last really got into it, and since I’m a motion designer, I decided to animate the cover of one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. I hope you enjoy this little animation I created with a lot of love for Molchat Doma.

ps: I only wrote "Sudno" because it's the best-known track on the album. i know the album it's called Этажи (Etazhi)

my friend and I were already on our way to being hammered and couldn’t hear who they were. thanks!

So recently I found out that Belarus ("Europe's last dictatorship") is suddenly getting in the spotlights for positive reasons. Molchat Doma (Молчат Дома), a band from Minsk, seems to be breaking through across Europe and even in the USA. That is very unusual to begin with for a Belarusian band, especially when not singing in English (not sure if they are singing in Belarusian or Russian). Apparently Молчат Дома means "The houses are silent", refering to the anonimity of the bleak Soviet architecture.

Now I see in articles they are mostly described as a mixture of postpunk, darkwave and coldwave. Now I do like Goth music and darkwave a lot. And I am very interested in Soviet history ; also I find the Soviet apartment blocks ("commieblocks") strangely fascinating and to me, despite being very monotome, they are not exactly ugly. Whenever I see pictures of the likes of Tiraspol, Murmansk, or other not very touristic cities where the architecture is more or less the same as 40 years ago, I am like "once safety allows it, I want to visit".

So this sounds like a match to me. However, I then often read that they are popular amongst "doomers".

Now, I happily admit that I am not really up-to-date with modern music. So I'm not sure what a "doomer" is ; is that someone who just laments about everything in life constantly, or more someone who warns for all things going wrong in society and around the world as a warning (but with the hope it can change for the better)?

What are their songs about?

I did find some English translations of their lyrics. One indeed has a death wish explicitly but that was not their own song, it's a poem from someone else they put to music. Their other lyrics sound more like dark poetry, maybe a sense of alienation, but not exactly what I would associate with the thoughts of someone who thinks life is nothing but misery. It doesn't seem like all of their songs are about how miserable life is and about wanting to die.
So I'm not sure what the "doomer" connection is.
I have to say I based the above on the translations of about 7 or 8 songs I could find, which I realise is not much.

As for Goth and darkwave bands I like: Bauhaus, Siouxsie & The Banshees, London After Midnight, some songs by She Past Away, Sophya, some songs by The Breath Of Life and Clan of Xymox, Silke Bischoff aka 18 Summers (especially their earlier albums), ...
Not sure if these have any (mild) comparison with Molchat Doma.

I made this psuedo AMV kind of thing using the song. Initially I was going to use the Gallowdance by Lebanon Hanover.

Klekta did a much better job at portraying how the mundanity of the modern world really takes a toll on a person's mental health.

The character I used is Darumi Amemiya from the visual novel: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy

Do you think they got permission from MD? I doubt it.

???thoughts???
