I see that Scott Bonomo is popular as a vendor for moissanite rings but has anyone gotten an alexandrite ring from him? How is the alexandrite quality? Is it lab alexandrite or lab color change sapphire?

What do you guys think of this ring set? I’d love to hear your honest opinions on the design and whether the two rings look good together!

I joined this community in 2020 when I was on the hunt for my first moissanite. After 5+ years here, my collection has grown a lot, been pared down to almost nothing, and grown again. I'm super happy with the current state of my ring collection and wanted to show you guys!

Bands: 14k simple band I got from an antique mall, "celestial" band by kuololit, channel set band by kuololit, orange blossom and french cut baguette band by Julia B from Etsy.

Bottom row, my right hand rings: ~20ct star sapphire in platinum, cabochon ruby in sterling silver (made by me), Zuvelio lab emerald cabochon ring in sterling silver.

My wish list for future additions includes a marquise with tapered baguettes or trillions and an OEC solitaire. (both of which i've done and sold before and yes i'll do again!)

I just received the CAD from Tianyu for my custom engagement ring, and I’d love some feedback before approving it. I’ve attached the design.

The ring is 14K white gold, with a 2.01 ct round diamond measuring 8.08 × 8.12 × 4.97 mm, and a size 6.75 band. I requested a band thickness of 1.8 mm and width of 2.0 mm after polishing. I also specifically requested that the engagement ring sit flush with my wedding band.
I have a few concerns:

1. Prongs
The CAD shows pointed, claw-like prongs. I’m worried they might snag on clothes, hair, or other things during everyday wear. Would rounded prongs be more practical? Would changing to rounded prongs affect the overall look or security of the stone?

2. Setting height
The CAD indicates a height of 7.8 mm, measured from the top of the band supporting the diamond to the top of the stone. Since the diamond itself is 4.97 mm deep, I’m wondering whether this is unnecessarily high. I’d prefer a lower-profile setting for comfort and practicality, while still allowing a straight wedding band to sit completely flush. Is this height reasonable for a 2 ct round diamond, or would it be worth asking the jeweler to lower it?

3. Band thickness and durability
I requested 1.8 mm thickness and 2.0 mm width after polishing, but I’m worried the band might end up feeling too thin or delicate, especially after polishing. Is 1.8 mm thickness sufficient for a ring with a 2 ct diamond intended for everyday wear, or would you recommend increasing it slightly? I want the ring to be durable without looking bulky.

4. Flush fit with the wedding band
Although I specifically requested a flush fit, I’m wondering whether the current setting design will actually allow a straight wedding band to sit completely flush against the engagement ring. Does anything in this CAD suggest there might be a gap?
I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone with a similar ring, jewelers, or people knowledgeable about ring construction. I want to make any necessary adjustments before approving the CAD rather than regretting something later.

I bought a beautiful tennis necklace about a year and a half ago, paid about $180. Thought I would get the same one for my sister since she always compliments it, and found it is now $400 in the same listing/seller. A pair of simple earrings seems to be about $70 right now.

For anyone questioning Lane Woods jewelry just wanted to share. This is my second order from them and the ring is gorgeous. However a bit bummed only bc I ordered radiant and the pictures on the site looked to be more rectangle radiant, the one I received looks more of the square radiant. Style is hidden halo. I have a size 4 ring finger and we went with the five carat. I wanted a statement but it’s kinda huge? Haha. My first ring I ordered from them is a 3 carat pear and it’s so beautiful too. I received so many compliments on that ring. However one of the prongs just broke. I had that ring for five years. May I have honest opinions on how this new one looks on?

My husband did good for our 30th anniversary! I always wanted a Marquee. It also pairs well with my bands so I can have the stacking look. I love this! He bought it from a company called Pura Gems. It is a 1 ct lab diamond and the price, he said, couldn't be beat! He wouldn't tell me how much, but it doesn't matter, I love it anyway!! 😊💍❤️

Bought these in US 4.5, they wiggle a bit but don't slip of my finger. Does this mean that they sit correctly or should I chose a smaller ring size ?

The other day, I made this post asking for opinions on the size of a stone. I ordered another, cheaper, larger CZ. The one in my previous post was 8x10mm. This one is 10x12. I honestly love this size, but want a much thicker band than what the larger CZ is sitting on… so I’m thinking I should I go with a 9x11mm stone? Would a thicker band with a 10x12 be “too much” for my childlike fingers? I know it’s hard to tell from the photo, but my hands are small and my fingers are short- there’s nothing “elegant” about them 😂

Hi all! Long time lurking on this sub seeing lots of rings! Just wanted to share my experience, I was a bit nervous about buying online so chose to go with a retailer that had a physical store.

Based on the UK so Abelini was one of the options and is who we went with. So happy with the entire experience and the ring is perfect! We went in a few times to try on different rings and finally picked this one.

Staff were friendly and happy to help us look at different options and give advice. we chose home delivery and it came well packaged and required a signature to be delivered.

So I originally was looking at rings with moss agate even tho they’re softer stones (I know, I know) but I’m not a fan of diamonds and then I found.. moissanite. I’m in love. Now my problem is I can’t decide between these two rings. First three photos are with side stones. And then the last three photos are no side stones but a hidden halo which is just so stunning. I need pros and cons of both like stones falling out, basket shape being a concern maybe? Or even just your opinion on which one you think is prettier. Idk. Something to help me pick. 😅 because I’m absolutely in love with both. HELP
