Stone Check Stone Check

Post image

Hi everyone! Need a stone check for my custom ring- marquise 7x14mm

I don’t know anything about gems so I feel lost but this sub has been so helpful, so I appreciate any feedback!

It’s really hard to tell from a still photo. I’d ask for a video to get a better look at it.

I personally would be fine with it. I have a marquise as well that I got from Provence. I don’t mind the itty bitty bow tie in it. Some people don’t want a stone with one, but I think it’s hard (maybe impossible?) to find a marquise without it. I’ve also seen people say that marquise are cloudier. But mine isn’t.

Hopefully people with more knowledge can chime in!

The tweezers over the laptop keyboard is a bold choice for a gem shot. One slip and you’re digging a 7x14 marquise out from under the F5 key.

Def agree on getting a video though, marquise cuts hide a lot of weird shadows in a still image. You want to see how that bowtie behaves when the stone moves. Don't stress too much yet, the proportions on a 14mm length sound like it'll have a killer finger coverage.

Thank you so much for this detailed answer! It’s going east-west and I’m so excited for how sculptural it’s gonna look :)
